Brandon, looks you're being pretty resourceful with the troubleshooting!

Lol yeah! I got the switch out. Not sure if it’s been tampered with. Going to try to find some wiring diagram or something for this online. Also apparently they are my auxiliary driving lights [emoji51] I dont understand it lol.

That is not your headlight switch....

Its the auxiliary light switch. In the middle

They normally only come on when the headlights are on. Which is the stalk on your steering wheel.

OK, so I was trouble shooting. I found a diagram and hooked up some wires to continue the current to figure out if its the switch or not...and this happened
I have been fiddling with this switch and I am hoping trimming this down will make it operate correctly now the middle prong is flush. Hopefully this will work

Yeah, it didnt work lol. I am going to order that tonight. Any thoughts on if I just close the circuit for inspection? The lights will automatically turn on with the headlights?

As stupid as it is, normally the law (I know this is true in MD) is that fog lights only have to be functional if they are installed on the car. The law does not say they have to be there even if the car came with them from the factory.
You would likely pass if you just removed the fog light housings from the front of the car. I did this on both my Talon and old SHO because of cracks in the lenses after they failed, both passed on review.

Did it look stock? The only thing is they might fail me because it looks like something is supposed to be there if I remove it lol its the lights on the right

Tons of BMWs are missing or were never optioned with fog lights but have the holes there where they are missing. I'd just take them out and say the car never came with them. I've never seen any place fail you for fog lights not working. If they did, I'd never go back.
Why not just get Antique Tags?

They are actually “auxiliary driving lights”. do you think that makes a difference? And I dint want antiques because this is my only car and I will probably take trips in it and what not

If the lights are in place, they both need to be working
You can remove BOTH and you will pass.

Alright, sweet! Thanks for the info and the welcome. I am gonna get it re-inspected tomorrow evening. If they fail me again I am going to just go to another shop.
