The one where their stupidly designed gear selector caused the car to not be in park and run people over

The 6.7L diesel in the 250+ has been the same drivetrain since what, 2011? I believe that's seven years of data now  Tongue

And my friend's that have them break down more often than any other new-ish truck I have seen.  Dodgy

The Raptor Ranger is here. The one in the photos (unveiled in Thailand) sports a 2.0 TT 4 cylinder diesel with 210 hp and 369lb ft torque.

If by "here" you mean "planet earth" then yeah. If you mean "America", don't hold your breath.

Hence the (in Thailand) portion of my post. Don't think they would unveil the US version all the way across the world bruh.

I was hopeful they would bring it here, now the prevailing tone seems to be that they will not. But even if they did I can't see myself being a buyer...guaranteed that would crest the $50k mark for a mid-size truck, which is bonkers

A few random thoughts from the Washington Auto Show-
  • Interiors have gotten really good overall - clearly some use better materials but even a Civic is pretty good these days.
  • You can spend 67K on a 1500 Chevy pickup, (the 2500 with less bells and whistles was over 70 IIRC) 73K on a Suburban and nearly 80K on a Denali, no Escalades on hand.
  • The white loaded Stinger looked great on the pedestal, the interior of the blue base model you could sit in wasn't impressive. It was so similar to a MB that it felt like a cheap ripoff.
  • On the (not so) lower end of the spectrum, I really liked the look of the Civic si and the ILX although the beak look is still not my favorite...
  • The new Ranger looked better in person than photos I've seen online.
  • The Tacoma TRD back seat is surprisingly small - the kids have gotten use to the 3 series and were like "no way" in the Tacoma.
  • That new Lexus LC 500 is absolutely gorgeous inside and out but I wish they would get away from that grille thing they are doing.
  • Like it or not, the new Camry (XSE I think) is kind of making the Accord and Passat rather pedestrian looking. Honestly, I'm not actually sure why the Passat has largely gotten a pass for the last several years, it is arguably the most boring looking car on the road.
The Range Rover test track was pretty cool, I was surprised they were letting the people drive and not the representatives (who were of course in the car).

It was fun with the whole family but it's obviously not Detroit / LA. I had to curb expectations since the commercials talk about concepts and exotics, of which there are very few.

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...

I would go on to say the new Civic interior is better than pretty good. The materials are nice, the equipment you get for the price is fantastic, and it's not overly done with buttons and switches like other new vehicles.

Love the LC 500. I don't even care about the grille - give me that 5.0 V8 and watch me smile.

Same thoughts about the Camry sorta. I think the new Accord is actually pretty good looking, but I am surprised by the styling of the Camry. It's not so horrible looking anymore.

you should. everyone i know that has, has really enjoyed them.

it seems to be a common theme that honda's 1.5 and 2.0 turbo engines are choked pretty bad from the factory. guys with just the Si are already pulling 12's in the quarter with just some breathing mods, intercooler, slicks, and a tune. crazy potential in any of those cars, and they've kept them light too. they probably won't make great used buys though, since the civics seem to hold value so well.

Do it. The 1.5L is a great little engine for a daily. The turbo is nice and has enough power on demand without a ton of lag. The hatch has tons of cargo room in it too. I think it's better looking than the sedan and coupe.

That's like saying you prefer drinking diesel over gasoline. Just two different forms of nasty.

The new Accord is... okayish. The Civic in every variant is just bad.

The new Sierra is dropping today with a visual facelift. Not sure if there are going to be any other innovations but I'm curious to see.

I'll be watching pretty intently.  Starting to look at maybe upgrading my truck.
