Unfortunately I get this pretty much on 90% of the car parts I have for sale. I just reply back with the asking price now (dont worry, I got mad the first couple times too and ignored or send scathing replies).

I don't mind the "I got X cash". At least its an offer. All these asshats saying "BEST PRICE" "LOWEST PRICE" "WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE FOR IT". I put a $%#^ing price, at least make me an offer instead of just making an attempt that I will randomly go lower.

My company is moving offices on Friday, and with that comes new desk layouts/seating assignments. I cannot wait because it means I get to move away from my current next-desk-neighbor.

He's incredibly loud when he's on conference calls. His desk is gross (never wiped anything down). Our whole aisle shares a single long desk, broken up by dividers - he bounces his legs hard enough to shake my monitors EVEN if I hold them still. They still move. And he sounds like a garbage disposal full of camshafts and bolts whenever he eats.

My new desk has me next to empty spots that are currently on "request to hire" status. Three more days.

Nothing bad but never had plans to go back. They just got a huge cash infusion and went public again so it's an entirely new company. We will see what happens. Focusing on keeping my job which is looking good and then looking for other options if needed.

Another gear grinder:  People who steamroll conversations.  In other words, they use "and" or "then" to string together completely unrelated or unnecessarily detailed descriptions of what they are trying to say.  I don't know if it's a byproduct of our ADD generation or what but I feel like a lot of people have lost the art of "listening" in conversation (and just conversation skills in general).  

Yesterday I was on a client call (who I had not met before) and I was back to back so I really didn't have more than half an hour to speak with him.  He steamrolled the entire conversation for 27 minutes (yes I counted).  I maybe got two opportunities to steer him back to the purpose of the call but he bounced off both times to tell me about something completely irrelevant and unrelated.  Unfortunately for him he has to wait another day or two to get what he needed, but that's not my problem.  You need to learn how to carry productive conversations if you want to get things done.

and to springboard off the topic of communication problems:

clients who can't be bothered to write an email more than a sentence long in a vague, completely unhelpful manner in response to a series of complex, long, nuanced emails that I send outlining specific procedures so they can solve their problems. then i'm forced to call and they won't pick up the phone anyway, which prompts more useless emails in which they tell me they're getting frustrated. no shit? i get it, you're on your phone, driving, and trying to type an email into your screen with one hand. i don't care. you're useless.

i'm not getting paid to babysit, if you can't use words and sentences to convey your thoughts and specific responses to specific questions, then i'm too busy to work for you.

Sometimes you just have to strong arm these people and literally tell them you don't think the conversation is being productive/you yourself is not getting enough time to speak. Usually people will back off and the conversation will be better.

low effort responses from non-designer people that are used to getting their way, can't be bothered, and expect to have their mind read. the result is always the same in the end...garbage
