Automotive News Discussion
right, but that's not the fault of the car, it was largely buyer perception. same thing happened to the old VW Phaeton.

reviews on the car have all been overwhelmingly positive from what i've seen, so i guess i'm happy to just sit back and see what happens. i totally get that people wouldn't want to have to tell their friends they dropped jag/bmw/audi money on a kia.

Awesome to hear the driver's reaction, he's obviously driven a lot of fast cars and he is blown away

We're talking F1 car acceleration, I'm sure it's pretty shocking! 7300 lbft of torque?  Exclamation Huh

New Aston Martin Vantage

I don't particularly like the headlights but everything else looks muscular and sexy. Biggest improvement those is the interior. Aston Martin interiors have been looking 10-15 years out of date for some time now, now it has style and modernity befitting the price tags.

$150k is not a terrible price but at the same time the game is moving really quickly in that space. A good alternative to a 911 Turbo I guess.

Was at my local Honda dealer today and they had a Type R sitting in the showroom roped off. The paint actually looked fairly nice like they had an actual detailer do some direction work. Looked at the sticker and lol'ed. $10k market adjustment. I have no idea if the market is still paying this markup like they were when they took pre-orders. Maybe G can chime in.
MSRP was $34,xxx

I think people are still paying $5k over in the DC Metro area, don't know how many people are paying $10k markups. They might just be starting at $10k, then haggling down to somewhere below that. When I was searching it wasn't too hard to find cars at $5k over.

Judging by how there's only a handful of CTR's for sale within 100 miles, the demand is still pretty high so I'd expect markups to persist for awhile, but slowly deflating nonetheless.

Volvo Care

Anyone see this? My boss just passed this along because he was considering it. It...seems like a good deal? I know Cadillac put out that other program we mentioned earlier, but $600/mo for everything for an XC40 (if you like it, obviously) seems like a pretty good deal, no?

It does, assuming you like the XC40. I think it's funky, but it's useless to me because it won't tow. But for a #urban #millennial #livingtheirbestlife, it could be a neat car. Although one question that was raised in another group I'm in was how your state treats this "purchase plan" sort of thing. Namely, are you renting the car or do you own it, in the state's eyes? In Virginia, not technically owning the car would get you out of a LOT of personal property tax each year.

I'm digging it aside from 2 things.

Their press Vehicle has the same interior as Casey's Focus did in 2010. I'd assume a press vehicle would have all boxes checked, and that's the best it can look?

The tailgate they stole from Dodge, but instead of RAM we have RANGER.
