Also this one, a bit cheaper, not quite as clean, a few more miles

Thanks Adam. that body kit is so far outside my personality but those are pretty sought after from what i understand and were considered the best handling FWD you could buy new at the time. super tempting...that's only 2.5 hrs up I-20 from me

Go after the first one Adam posted. That car looks nice.

The first mugen car Adam posted does look nice. I'm not a fan of the kit either. Maybe you can sell or trade for stock parts + cash?

both have been hit. first one's carfax is super vague about it, second one sounds like he rear ended someone. i wonder if i can use that to talk them down. i hate dealers...

you don't wanna part those out. they're legit rare and priced accordingly. if i got one, i'd leave it alone....love the color but the kit is not my jam at all. buuuuut i bet it drives beautifully.

Oh I know they are rare and all that. But if you plan on being the final owner, who cares? If you can live it then carry on though. Can't go wrong with that color.

Did we talk about a third gen TL? I'm pretty sure you can find that car and the Type S like i used to have in manual transmission. At this point though it's probably hard to find a good one with low miles that doesn't cost a ton

90% of cars have been hit. My Grand Prix was hit before I owned it. My SHO was hit before I owned it. My Corolla was hit 3x under my wife's ownership. All have / had a clean Carfax.
Both Civics are being sold by large franchised dealers. Dealers like that don't normally deal in poorly repaired cars. The second lists the damage as minor and indicated the car was still drivable.
Look over them closely. Inspect the vin tags. Look for overspray. Test drive them. Take them to a 3rd party for a PPI.... Don't discard any car that has been hit, just look at it as something to inspect.

Also, the Mugen kit looks awesome. It's the only Civic of that generation that moves it even a little bit for me.

Is occasional rallyx still on the table? If so I'd be nervous about damaging that splitter, especially if rare.
I second the TL idea for investigation. We loved our TL (non-Type-S), it's quick, handles well (though certainly less go-kartish than the Si) and will be more roomy than the civic. Can't remember if the regular was available in manual or not...

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...

totally agree and not downplaying it at all. my subaru was hit 5 times before the final kill. that car was almost spotless and you'd never have known if i didn't say anything.
just trying to find an angle to negotiate on, possibly. with this type of car i expect people will drive them hard or at least get booped here and there in daily driving since thats what most of them are used for.
Steve85 Wrote:Is occasional rallyx still on the table?
its guaranteed. plan is to campaign the car in Stock or Prepared FWD. there have been a couple nat'l championship class wins by these cars in recent years. they are built perfectly for it.
....and exactly the reason i'm nervous about the kit. the Mugen also rides harder and has a louder exhaust than the stock Si, and i've been trying to stay stock since this will be a family car. its the main reason we stopped using the 2.5RS for anything...family hated riding in it, which made the car kinda useless.
still. Mugen is so baller....
TL is tempting but its just...big. don't need that much space and that much power to the front wheels with the weight starts to make it less and less capable for rallyx.

90% of cars have been hit? Who the hell are you all driving around?
I don't know of anyone in my family or extended family that lives around here that has been in an accident for at least as long as I've been driving.
The worst I've had happen to one of my cars is someone put a door ding on the subaru.

If you live in the DC area, or further down south toward the big cities (especially ATL like Scotty), you're almost guaranteed to get in an accident at some point. Somebody rear ended my Jag when I was sitting at a stop light if you remember. If you live in the middle of nowhere central VA you might have better odds of avoiding it
