My friend Christina had a set that looked just like those (but I think slightly different?) on her E90:

ScottyB Wrote:righteous score G, they are truly special cars. i think of those cars as kings when it comes to grand touring, but with a little extra athleticism. do you miss the cayman at all or is this thing way better as an overall experience?

I'll definitely miss the Cayman because it's a lighter, more visceral car. It gives you more feedback and more responsive to your inputs. The M3 will be a lot easier to live with day to day and I love the power and the engine. Nothing like an 8500 rpm V8 tearing down the road. But it weighs about 800 lbs more Confusedhock:

I hope I can get another mid-engined sports car one day, but it may be awhile

So...3 yrs on, what do you think? I can't stop looking at these as I'm ready to move on from the Edge/Corvette to one vehicle that is fun and fits more than one passenger.

Also trying not jump on the crazy ass laguna seca over red one for sale in Alexandria.

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...

3 years later, I'm pretty happy with it as a street car. Very comfortable, plenty of power, V8 sounds great, and great to look at. Reliability wise it's only been minor maintenance here and there. Had to replace rear diff fluid and recharge the AC twice.

What I was less happy with was that on track it really needs a transmission and oil cooler to run hard all weekend. It also has too much body roll for my tastes, even in M Dynamic Mode. If I had to do it over again, maybe I would've gotten one without the competition package so it would be easier to swap in aftermarket coilovers. Although really, I simply didn't have the time and motivation to do all of that either way.

Looking forward it's hard to choose something to replace it. The new M3 is lighter and more modern, but the new engine can't beat the satisfaction from the V8. It really is a great car, even if it will probably be the heaviest M3 ever made (unless they make a hybrid). No ragrets.
