Also just finished it up, such a sick series and keeping it true to real life events makes it that much better. I have been purposely avoiding wikipedia or any other historical resources to hear about what actually happened in the timeline because I don't want to spoil the upcoming seasons. And as such I am super curious to see who the character is played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers. He was awesome I thought in the Tudors so my hope is that he'll kill whatever role this is they have for him.
I am also glad I stuck it out with the Grand Tour. The guys really seemed to have found their stride after the 3rd episode. There's still some pointless stuff (like Celebrity Brain Crash) that feel like fillers to me, but they seem to be genuinely having fun together again.

Apparently the whole Celebrity Brain Crash thing was a big 'fuck you' to the BBC because the BBC said it'd be too much like Top Gear if they did celebrity interviews. They were poaching celebs who were supposed to do interviews on the new TG and paying them to come and 'die' on TGT instead. It still wasn't very entertaining and hopefully they've gotten it out of their system by season 2, but the reasoning behind it is very Clarksonian.

+1 to Vikings s4, and +1000 to Lagertha/Winnick. Mmph.
So I've been watching a lot of movies lately after jailbreaking my firestick. Watched Hacksaw Ridge yesterday. Wow. Incredible movie. Done really well, great special effects and acting. Intense battle scenes with more gore than I have seen in a while. One of the better war movies since Saving Private Ryan.
The wife and I also saw Split a couple weeks ago and Get Out on Saturday. Split was awesome. James McAvoy did an amazing job playing the 6-7 different roles. Full of action and suspense.
Get Out was fantastic. If you see one movie this year make it this one. Great mix of suspense, horror, and comedy all in one movie. So creepy and racist but a great movie with really good acting.

Ok so I'm done with the new house of cards season, anyone else a little confused? I honestly had a hard time following the story, who's who, who where and why, and how people kept being included and excluded and it just seemed so jumbled with moments where they clarify then they get all convoluted again and idk. I liked it I just felt like I was never properly following what was going on. Kinda mad I finished the season so quick. I need more. Oh well. Maybe I'll finally start game of thrones.

I watched season one when it came out. Was super hooked. Watched season two as soon as it released. Got busy when season 3 came out. Finally tried to sit down and watch it a couple months ago and I just couldn't get back into it. Not sure if I waited too long but it was just kinda boring and seemed like there was no real action and a ton of time has passed between the end of 2 and the first episode of 3 (like in the plot). I got tired of what's his name's story (Frank's right hand guy). I just stopped watching. Not sure I'll ever get back into it

Anybody else watching The Leftovers on HBO? Final episode this Sunday. It's been a wild third & final season thus far, and probably the series' best. For anyone that hasn't seen it from the start, I don't really know where to begin explaining it but, the gist of it is that 2% of the world's population suddenly disappears, and the series examines the religiosity, cultism, angst, paranoia, fear, and just the general craziness of the humanity left behind.

Plus, s3 gave this gem of Regina King and Carrie Coon on a trampoline set to Wu Tang (there's a longer clip, but spoilers)

I couldn't get into The Leftovers when it first started but I hear it has gotten really good, will have to give it another chance.
I agree on S3 of HoC, it lost a lot of it's momentum, I think S4 has been better but I'm only 2 episodes in.
Don't even bother with GoT if you think HoC has too many storylines and characters, I've been pissed off at the lack of the promised gigantic war in GoT since like S3. If Lauren wasn't so into it I would've stopped watching it a couple years ago.

I am in the middle of season 2 of The Leftovers and I still can't decide if I like it or not. I just watched the hotel episode with Kevin and the old black guy from the mobile home. It's a weird fucking show for sure. The way they play the religion, cults, and strange things people do keeps me watching though.
Watched episode 3 of HoC season 5 last night. I love this show. I agree with Matthew that sometimes it is hard to keep up with the characters and storylines and you really have to know politics at certain points to understand who is doing what or why someone has influence over someone else. It could be tough for the average person not really into politics.
I'm on the GoT wagon too, but agree with Joey. The lack of giant war/battle is starting to piss me off.
How about Master of None on Netflix? Season 2 just dropped and it is just as funny as season 1. If you like Aziz Anzari you will love this show (he is the main character and producer). Quick 30 minute episodes.

Y'all watched season 6 of GoT and thought there wasn't enough battle shit? There were like 3 big battles, and a bunch of other people getting stabbed, burned, and blown up, what more do you want?

Been watching the leftovers. It's off the rails, and I'm just too far in to not watch the finale. I thought kevin waking up under the sheet was going to reveal the whole thing had been a dream.

Anything new I should be checking out? Finally finished House of Cards. Finished Master of None, Crashing. Kind of left off in the middle of The Leftovers so maybe I'll pick that back up. Mr. Robot any good?
Currently watching Snowfall, Suits, GoT. I need something between those.

Mr Robot is very good, would recommend.
If you like comic/Superhero stuff, i really liked Legion (only 8 episodes too, so quick watch.) Also, Preacher is a lot of fun.
