I really need to get both of my german hoopties detailed, want to set something up for springtime? I've got all the product I think....

I'm sure we can work them in once I get Dave's heap turned around.

Well my point was that he could've just added some simple bolt ons, tune, wheels/tires, and not paid the premium and had more power :bootyshake:

Edit: I should say I don't know what he paid for it but still

I can almost guarantee the total cost of a tune, exhaust, and new wheels and tires would meet or exceed the difference between an M-sport 6spd 135i and a 135is. And when you go to sell it the premium carries over, you don't have to revert it to stock or take a hit on $3,000 worth of stupid bolt ons.

Well with that logic I guess it was a good decision. Usually I'm used to seeing prices of 'is' models carrying more than that when I've looked before

Still though, you should tune it. JB4 will work along with the bmw performance tune just fine. I'm not super familiar with n55's, but the BMS website says an n55 should dyno around 350whp tune only. That seems high, but they may have made improvements to the JB4 in the last few years.

At least its not a fuckin' prius :vomit: (you had to see THAT coming)

As a package, its really nice to have the wheels/suspension/exterior bits/tune/etc, and the one I bought was priced at "135i" pricing rather than "135is" pricing, and had 4 new tires put on.

And, I cant just leave anything alone, so it will get modded, y0. Hot Import Nights is coming.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Yeah, but come on, it's not on the same level as Herndon or anything.

Currently exploring warranty options. When (yes, when) the water pump fails that will be a $900-1000 shop job, so pay now or pay later. I cant find much in the way of other big problems though, BMW has extended the warranty on the HPFP's, but I think those are more or less sorted out.

The only other car I've owned that was this new/low mileage was the Ridgeline  Everything else has been either some old german trash or broken honda.

Nice buy! Those things look particularly good in the M-sport gear. Those wheels are awesome too.

My neighbor just did his water pump on his 335, said he wouldn't want to do it again. I didn't know those things were electric - the whole automatic bleeding sequence was weird and cool.

How many miles were on it when it failed? Seems they'll go tits up anywhere from 20-60k miles...

What the fuck is it with BMW and water pumps anyway? I feel like water pumps shouldn't be that hard of a thing to design to work reliably compared to half the other shit on the motor.

FTFY...

Signed, german car addict.

I still have a burn mark on my arm from replacing the coolant flange on the back of my Audi motor last week.

His thermostat went first (though he was planning on doing the WP anyway). His original one was still ticking at 110k.
