Hey all,
Graduation is in 4 months and I'm starting to think of what I want to do car wise. I know this is early, but I hate to be in a rush and this will take lots of thinking.
What I have:
Hopefully a good job come graduation, the Tacoma and the miata (both are paid off now)
I'm thinking about selling the Tacoma, but I think the Miata will stay, at least for now. I'm pretty much committed for a while since my gf bought me a hard top.
What I want:
I want to track something, but it doesn't look to be the miata.
I also want something that's more comfortable than a half-way lifted Tacoma or an old Miata. I have nothing to take on long trips or that seats more than 2 people.
I also would like another truck to replace the Tacoma because I want to be able to tow and drive in the snow.
Later on down the road I'd like to offroad again, but whatever I get will be a downgrade from the Tacoma most likely.
I understand not all of this is possible and I should be grateful that I have what I currently do, but I really want to change things up. Both of these cars are bad for my back and not practical at all. I've thought to sell the Tacoma, buy something to track occasionally that I could also DD some times and take on trips, and make a payment on a full size truck (doesn't have to be new. I really like mid 2000s Silverados and would love a Duramax from those years). Way into the future I'd like a buy an old Wrangler or XJ Jeep to offroad again.
Perhaps I can bite the bullet, sell the Taco, DD a Jeep, and track the Miata.
What would you guys do?
I'll sell you the Mazda3. Great DD only 43k miles. I'll even get all stock parts on before I sell it to you

So, no idea on commute, no idea on budget, no idea on anything at all except that it's new and shiney.
Uhhhhh, buy a 911. Then rub your nuts in RJ's face, to show him what he's missing.

Dude come on. In one post you said you want something to track, something to DD, something to tow your track car, something to offroad, and something comfortable. How can we possibly with with that?

May only be 2 seats and can't tow but this is the best I can actually think of with all that.

Hell yah.
Why do you want a track car but are unwilling to track the miata?

Clearly he needs to just get the biggest loan any crazy bank will throw at him and buy all the vehicles and equipment that DJ and his wife have.

Okay, let me clarify.
If you had ~$8000 from selling my truck and willing to pick up a car payment and already owned a Miata, what would you buy? I'm just looking to see what everyone else would do.
I know there are a million variables, but I want to know what everyone else would do. Assuming I'm driving like 20 minutes or more to work everyday.

I've already grown too callous to hypothesize over this shit anymore lol
I'd sell everything and kill my student loan and bicycle everywhere lmao.

I'd probably turn the Miata into a z3 and find a well sorted manual v70r to daily.
....As of my current feelings in this particular moment. I'll let you know what I think in the morning.

How much of a car payment to you anticipate being able to take on? That's a huge variable. $350 a month? $250 a month? $800 a month? (I once got a guy bought, when I worked at the dealership, for $961/month for a new WRX).

I couldn't tell you. I'm sure I could swing $500 a month, which is my current rent anyway.
New Canyon or Colorado. New Miata. 5.0 Mustang. C6 Vette. There's too many options with your wish list since you have multiple vehicle types

sell Tacoma, sell shitty Miata, buy Economy Car DD, I'd say Prius but it would be too logical to buy the best appliance to be an appliance.
$500 car payment toward fun car, Base C5 is easily in that territory, GTO, Boxster, FRS/GT86, Mustang, NC miata, etc.
Save up $3-4k over a couple years for the nicest XJ you can find.
You're welcome.
Keep the miata and track it, its disposable.
Buy a nice E90 335/M3, B8 S4, etc to daily drive.
