Air bag recall

I got my letter from Honda the other week about the fit being recalled for the airbag killing people. Fox won't be available until summer, but it mentioned talking to the dealer about concerns driving it or for alternative transportation until the fix is available.

Since I like talking to derships as little as possible, has anyone heard about the temp wheels situation, or a dealer actually providing that?

Finally got around to giving them a call, it was pretty straight forward; 'drop your car off at the dealership and we'll get you rental through enterprise.'


Did it over lunch today and the guy at enterprise is apologizing up and down for giving me this. I don't know what they though I had turned in, but he kept telling me all of their good cars are gone between the recall work and 4x4's going to fire related stuff. He said call back Monday and the'll swap me out for a suv or something better.



no mileage restrictions, it's billed directly to either honda (or the dealer?) This is probably why they want to get me an upsized car. I should have a rental until the parts come in and the car is fixed, which may be a while.

Same thing happened to me, the rental guy goes out and comes back to the counter looking like he'd just seen a ghost, and starts profusely apologizing for the car before I had even seen it. Maybe the Note is just a universally hated car? It's pretty shit awful in just about every conceivable way.
