Looks fairly clean for the miles. Price doesn't seem bad at all based on the research I was doing a couple of months ago.

We'll see what he says. I know myself well enough to know that I won't be happy with a car if the paint isn't in good shape.
Mileage is getting close to the rod bearing replacement range, but I've got access to a lift on weekends so I should be able to handle that without much of an issue if needed.

I say holdout. From a very superficial standpoint that looks so boring lol. Regular color, regular interior meh. Go for one in white or red, any color interior on those exterior color are hawt.

Talked to the guy, there's nothing wrong with it mechanically. Exterior has a couple dime sized dents. The front bumper has been repainted due to a peeling clear bra that wouldn't come off without taking the paint with it. Interior is in good shape according to him. He's sending me the VIN and some bigger pictures today, but if everything looks fine, I think I'm going to grab it if I can get him down in the mid 11,000 range.
I can probably also sell my 135i on the same day if I come up to nova. There is some guy up there that wants to buy it, but can't make the trip down here. *insertusernamehere* Wrote:I say holdout. The only colors I want for a E46 are one of the blue's or steel gray. White and red are probably my least favorite colors on that gen haha. Mystic blue is a beautiful color in the sun

Yeah I'm a big fan of Mystic, just from the photos in the ad the interior looks like it's in awesome shape, my E46 M seats came out of a car with similar mileage and the bolsters on the bottom cushion are already collapsing and letting the leather wrinkle.

Yeah, the bolsters caught my eye too - either they've been re-padded or the guy did a great job of sitting "into" the seat as opposed to sliding down in there. There might be a little shine, but that's nothing a little Leatherique can't help - and then again, they're CL pictures.
The fact that a 2003.5+ with 125k in seemingly good shape may go for mid 11k is both impressive and depressive.

I find it delightful, if they keep bottoming out I might actually be able to afford an S54 to stick in my car... one day.

It will get there, I think in the next year we will see a very close equalization of S52 vs S54 prices. S52s are back in the $2000+ market and the S54s are tingling down at the $3k market. The fact that a SHIT ton more S54s were produced than S52s, is going to help prices.

A quote from a review on that ad
"BMW fans know its the cheap version of M3. Nice weekend car that can be easily converted to race car for drags and drifts. it is rare to find IS model 318 or 325. The beauty of it is that the car is very light and easy to drive." Perfect drag car. This guy sure knows what markets to target.

Any idea how many hours they get for the valve adjustment? So basically what the avg cost is to have it done opposed to doing it yourself?
Or once you do it, is it a pretty simple process that can be done in a couple hours? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

It's not really the time, its the "replace your valve cover gasket, have the ~$400 tools (which I still have BJs and need to return to him and order my own), and don't drop a damn shim  . $120 DIY oil changes, weeping diff seals, subframe mounts that will eventually crack, headliner and A/B/C pillars falling apart, and alignment from the factory that eats tires (hint: align it as soon as you get it for 0 toe or at the most 1/8 total. Oh yeah, for all that you get average 15-17mpg. My mom averages 16mpg :?
