So, I forgot my membership card in Hburg. I think it's kind of ridiculous we need our card or race license to not pay $10... why isn't there a driver's list at the gate?

Because that's a big pain the ass, and while your forgotten membership card inconveniences you, a drivers list inconveniences everyone. My advice, don't be a dumbass. Oh and bring $10.

Are you going to make it DJ? That reminds me I need to give my car a shakedown.

And I've just never had an issue at the gate where there is a line that inconveniences people with a drivers list before. It isn't too hard to alphabetize a list of names and have your actual drivers license ready just like you would your card and is check at the gate while you are signing their waiver. I have no problem paying, but I know for sure I can't be the only one that forgets something every once in awhile....

I keep my membership card and TT license in my wallet 100% of the time, so I never forget 'em Wink

About to leave work and get things packed up at home. Got a friend who just moved to Alexandria, a few miles from my place, who has a long driveway and no HOA... so I dragged my trailer over there last night, which means I don't have to do the home --> Reston --> home loop to leave tomorrow and also (more importantly) when I get home Sunday night. But holy cow, I learned a lot about backing a trailer down a narrow driveway last night.

Gotta clean up my new rimzz, pack my weekend bag and load up Ye Olde Denali tonight.

Forgive me for being a noob, but that's the plan from now on.

Can't decide if I want go to Busch Gardens on Friday with fellow interns for a mid-summer check-in event or head to the track for UTCC...

I think I'm with you. Not to mention I've been to Busch Gardens several time in FL....

Edit: Even though I've texted Laura she still hasn't fixed the number issue in DE1. I've already had my number changed once so not sure what is going on there.

Edit x2: Holy shit at the drivers list for HPDE1. Looks like I'm not passing anyone except like 2-3 cars... I'm a little nervous to go out on this one with 80% of the cars having over double my hp...

Man up..... I did all my DE's in a stock powered Miata..... It only got interesting when I was running with the PCA in a group full of 911 cup cars and the Synergy DP car.... That was one reason I decided to go racing instead

You'll pass who you need to pass.

I got by a 500 hp V10 M5 when I was doing DE 1... in a 180k-mile Miata that might have made 95 whp at the time. Skill trumps horsepower in HPDE and any instructor worth a damn will see a "faster" car coming behind their student and have the student give you a point-by.

I was just joking about the passing if they don't give me a point by then whatever I'll just get mad and pit in and go back out.

The huge hp is just scary because of possible inexperience and the wet weather. Just don't want anything crazy to happen. I won't mind later in higher experience classes because 1 I'll have more safety and 2 people should be a bit better.

You should think more about learning the line, braking zones, and listening to your instructor than who you're going to be (not) passing.

Like I said it was a joke. That's what I like doing. I constantly ask my instructor where I can improve on and want to get into their passenger seat to see what they do. I like getting faster, that's the best part

Wet weather + high HP cars = those guys usually won't even go out. And you're FWD, enjoy the rain it makes things more 'even'.
