I do tho.

.RJ Wrote:A 500hp Merc V8 is just the sort of thing that would make a slushbox tolerable, though...
Well, 300 for the one I'd buy but yeah. My buddy's old E55 made about 550hp and it had so much torque it just didnt downshift. You want to sprint from 60-100? 5th gear is fine. 25-60? Yeah 5th will do that too.
Honestly though if you're considering a Benz wagon and you want a manual transmission you're buying the wrong kind of car. It's a bigass boat that comes out of the factory on airbags. It's designed to coddle you all the way to your destination, I'm not really sure why you would want to add a leg workout routine into the mix.
If I was still living where I grew up, a Mercedes wouldn't be anything close to a fantasy for me. I'd want the firmest, most manualist, zippy little car I could find that was still comfortable enough for 45 minute highway stints, because that's where I drove. I was either sitting in top gear on an empty highway or thrashing the shit out of my car on a backroad and pretty much nothing inbetween. I have no shame in saying that for a DD I kinda want an automatic.
I'd drive a stickshift if the car I really wanted had it, because it's not like it really takes all that much effort or thought, especially in a modern car, but it just doesn't add anything to the NOVA commuting experience.
Now if it was my only car and I lived in NOVA? Idk. It'd be a tough call between an old fashioned, motor-oil-for-the-soul manual and a DSG because DSGs are just so damn good at doing it all.

i'm so anti-big-city that sitting in traffic would be a litmus for "no way could i live there anyway"...so its a roundabout way for how i justify never owning a slushbox car
i work from home, so i'm worthless anyway. put almost 50 miles on the car this week!

To answer whoever's question - yes, the answer is two cars. I have two, and I drive a long ways to work, but rarely sit in traffic. I drive on summit point road most days, and yeah it's fun in the ATS. I can probably win the summit point road grand prix at this point. Even with the ability to drive on 20 miles of twisty's every day if I wanted to, I still wouldn't want to if my only car was a manual wagon.

I think I'm moving to Richmond in a few months so my car situation will depend heavily on what the parking situation is like there. If I have to do street parking I'm very likely not keeping my current car since it will get destroyed by people who can't parallel park.
If you're serious about selling it, I may hit you up in a few months time.

No rush, I may be more serious about selling it around the summer months.. Whereabouts in RVA are you moving?
Preferably the Fan since I typically go out to bars every weekend. I've also got friends that live on Chimborazo in Church Hill. Church Hill is a little rough in some areas, but theirs isn't bad and their housing is pretty cheap.
I haven't really seriously started looking at stuff yet. I'm waiting to hear back about my current job. I might be getting a new position within the same company that would allow me to work from home. That would make moving easy, but if not I plan on taking a few months off between jobs during the summer to just enjoy it and move and all that.

Hold up a sec...you know what I just realized? After 14 years of watching this movie and spotting every mistake and inconsistency....how did I miss this...I don't know....will have to think deeply on this later and reflect.
Johnny Tran isn't driving a S2000 in that scene. You can see the rear quarter window behind him - they put some red cover on the seat to make it look like the S2000's but that is clearly one of the black Civics used in the semi hijacking scenes. You can also tell by the shape of the wing:
S2000
Civic
Back to the thread....if you want, I guess. I don't even know what to do anymore.

 People get super srs about this I can tell....but I knew all of the more obvious ones already.
I didn't see the continuity error with the S2K/Civic so....I have achieved a higher level of being.
The seat belt also goes over to the b pillar. S2k seat belts go back behind the seat. Also, an s2k seat would be much taller than that and the rear window isn't that large.
This is just a guess but i also feel like the main car would have a racing seat and harness or at least a make shift harness so it looks like a racing seat.
Also, this may just be cause mine was old and ripped slightly already, but s2k tops don't hold up well over 129mph.

32k euros = $35k. hrmph. they'd probably price it a little lower. or at least they'd have to, but we won't see it here so doesn't matter.
