At this point in its 20 year old life the OE front, bottom spring isolator is probably the thickness of three sheets of copy paper...just reinstall it. If you deem it necessary, shave it down with some coarse sandpaper. Never understood why people took them off anyway, they're on the car for a reason.

Whatever you do...don't "grease the hell" out of it. That will just get messy and attract dirt/road junk.

They actually are really thin. I probably will end up putting them back on, with some sand paper to slim it down a little more. I just worry about the car being higher in the front than in the rear, and in that case I will re-install 1 of the ISOs in the rear.

People remove them, like me, to make the car lower and to honestly save money. They are just there to prevent NVH, and I knew it might squeak, but not like that lol. Anyway, I think that is a good suggestion, and probably what I will end up doing. I'll do the front, set it down, and see where it sits. If it seems a little too flat, 1 ISO will go back in the rear, probably top one.. I simply said grease because I know it might help, but I think ISOs help a ton, and I'll see whats what when I put them back in.

So little update.

The spring ISOs were not needed, the springs settled after driving, and no longer squeak at all. Car's stance is perfect, and it looks beautiful .

I painted the mirrors, and let me just say, in person this sets off the car x10000, a great appearance mod for this car. Along with these mirrors, I decided to see what yellow fogs might look like, and ordered some lamin-x overlays for the fog lights. I think they look pretty good and give the car some unique flare that you don't normally see on SN95 cars.

Now, let me tell you the story of the greedy dealership who tried to get $500 extra out of me off an inspection. So I took the car in to get an inspection and an alignment from the little bit of extra lowering from removing the isolators. I figured around a hundred for alignment and knew the inspection was $16. Well, my dad and I get a call, and that number is thrown out. I am absolutely furious, I made sure everything should pass on the car before I took it in. They said that the "rear brake pads are getting low, and the rotors need to be resurfaced". I knew from my friend that it would be cheaper to a) buy a new set of rotors from somewhere and b) buy some pads from advanced auto. They wanted in the neighborhood of 300 for this. They were going to put a rejection sticker on the car, and my plan was to go home, go to auto parts store, pick up pads for $, and install in the garage and bring it back the next day to let it pass. They also wanted to flush the brake fluid for around 200, and I just had flushed it a year ago, and know I can do it again, so that was a no go too. So we go to pick up the car (didn't perform the alignment), and guess what...they put a passing sticker on the car. SOOOOOO essentially we called their bluff. Drive it home, take off rear wheels, pads and rotors are good for a loooong time, and I plan on getting new pads and rotors in June anyway. SMH, needless to say won't be taking the car back there, and it was a FORD dealership.

Right as I leave to come back to JMU, the car begins to sound like a tractor, coming from the headers. The header bolts decide to back out, and being young and trusting, I thought buying locking bolts would stop them from backing out. WELL that didn't go to plan. So now it is getting taken to shop I trust, and they are going to fix her up as well as a new thermostat.

And now time for some pictures.

And fuck dishonest shops, I hate dealing with that sort of stuff. Be sure to post negative reviews on their Facebook page and Yelp page, people need to know when this sort of thing happens, because it's not okay.

Absolutely! I know for sure it needs a polish, I'm just a little to nervous to try it. Just let me know!

Thanks for the compliment! And absolutely, dishonest shops is why I cringe when I have to take it to any of them. I have had a dent put in my car at another shop that cost $200 out of my pocket to get fixed, and they wouldn't own up to it. I only go to a couple that I really trust, and I can watch the mechanic and learn from him what he is doing.

Those would be the ones! Stage 8 bolts, and just hoping they have to get re-torqued, have an appointment with a trusted shop on Friday to tighten both sides up to (hopefully) prevent them from backing out. Hopefully that solves the issue, otherwise the welds have given up on the header really quick, and I don't think that is the issue. They have blued very well though being chrome longtubes, looks pretty badass.

LOL looks like I will be adding a 3/8" wrench to my list of things in the car

If only it was that simple. The gasket decided to let go (not the bolts), and not being there to work on it, I had my dad take it to a shop. Yeahhhh, that is going to take a chunk out of the wheel and tire budget. Just hoping the other one doesn't decide to go as well before the show or Mustang Week. I have to get on my Mustang Week prep soon, right after the car show.

So I need some opinions. I'm looking to get new wheels and tires in May-June, and originally planned on going with some chrome Saleen wheels. However, after looking at some more pictures, I am stuck between the Cobra R's and the Saleens. I am dead set on some 5 spoke wheels (read- easier to clean/detail and look good). I'm pretty set on the chrome, I feel like polished would become a PITA to keep shining, and would require a lot of attention. I don't want to go black chrome, or any other color wheel really. So, in the end, all I'm asking is.... chrome Saleens or Cobra R's?

All these cars are my color, Rio/Vermillion Red. I know for the tires I plan on going Nitto NT555. These wheels will be staggered, fronts being 18x9 and rears being 18x10, and tires being 265/35/18 and 285/35/18 respectively.

I like them both, but I think the Cobra R's are more period-correct and suit the car better.

'95 R's are plaaaaaaaayyyyyed out. Like they were totally played out back in '02!

Chrome '03 Cobras or GTFO (go with the 10.5" in the rear).

I've seen those, and I have considered them. It just seems like a lot of SN95 owners are jumping on that train. Basically those are my three options. Cobra R's, Saleens, or 03 Cobra wheels are all very common/safe choices, but they all look so good on the car lol. 5 spoke wheels FTW

*edit: I can only find the replicas of the 03 Cobra wheels in 17", and I without a doubt want to go 18", and staggered. I know the stock size of the 03 Cobra wheels were 17", so it makes sense. I have 17" on the car right now, and without a doubt want some more wheel and less tire.
