Nope. $1600 is thr normal price. At least it was when I did it. One time I got a discount on it because they were discounting two hours and then I called back to change it to a one assuming the discount carried over. I think I sent them the check and they told me it wasn't enough and I somehow got them to just give me the discount anyway.

There's just so much incorrect information. Where did the number 30 come from? A two hour Enduro was always 40 people. And a one hour was 20. It's $40 a person. In the past, it was always $30 for current members and $40 for alumni and MM ate the $200 because that was part of the selling point to new members. "Discounted karting" if everyone pays $40, mm breaks even

Also, Sunday probably doesn't affect me and Gallamore if our weekends are open anyway but most out of towers probably won't want to or will be less likely to want to.

From past experience, the time frame might just be too tight. I had a concrete date for the fall karting in the first week of September and it still didn't fill all the way up for the mid November date. And i was pestering people to pay all the way up until the day of.

Also, not sure they care cause idk how much they are hurting but might want to mention there are other options in the area now. Might be able to get 10% off or something. Nicole (if that's who's still in charge of private events) has always worked with MM in the past. Especially about payments lol. Oh the stories

IIRC we only paid $1200 last year for Gforce, I only remember needing to put $600 down to reserve the date, which they ask for half to put down. I suppose i could be wrong though. Mathematically I don't see how it could have been $1600 because we lost less than $400 from karting, and we only had 22~ish people at the old prices... which would fit a $1200 cost. Hmmm

Try to get them to give a loyalty discount. We have been doing this for what 5-6 years now? and we always go to g force.

If you do call thunderbolt (which I'm not really sure will be any cheaper) make sure you get info on their governer system. The first levels are very very limiting and they have like 4 or 5 i think. Since almost none of us have been there, they may try to put us out on the slow setting which would probably be like going to putt putt and using the go karts

I'll have to see if I have time to tomorrow reach out. And having a date will help show we have serious interest and they might be more willing to budge know price compared to if we don't seem so sure or interested. Idk if that makes sense.

Is a summer date out of the question? Just curious - I guess it would depend on how many current student members are not VA-area residents. I have no idea how many we have from out of state this year but if we don't have any it could be an option, no?

I have no problems with a Sunday either, we've done it in the past.

I would definitely say no to summer. There are definitely people out of state, people have more of their weekends taken up doing things, people are less willing to do things club related, and I know I'll be busy with an internship this summer as I'm sure several students will have a job or be doing the same.

I think there are enough of us around in the summertime that a Saturday date could work. Might not get 40 people, but maybe do 20 for an hour.

Even if it's not an "official MM event" in the sense that officers coordinate it, I'd be down to get a group together over the summer.

Personally, we need an MM event during the summer. I don't think a karting event is it, but at least MM promotional about something during the summer should be out. Trip to Ferrari of Washington? MM Barbeque/wrench day?

This is what I was thinking too - it always kind of irked me that we've never had organized summer stuff, during the best weather months of the year.

Mm bbq and wrench. Or like a turducken but you know without a turducken would be cool possibly over the summer although you guys would probably want it in Nova and nova sucks. Idk about a trip to things. I'm not big on field trips like that but that's probably just me

Also, didn't see it on the calender event thingy thread but might want to plan a dinner and movie night when fast 7 comes out for current members. We had a good turnout and time when fast....5? Maybe came out.
