Who knows. The car is really nice though. I think the 'buyers remorse' phase will be a long way off. I've already accepted the inevitability of dealing with electrical gremlins and the balljoint bonanza in the front end.

MAKE IT STOP. I DON'T WANT TO BUY AN AUDI WAGON!!

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Lol I was going to post something similar with a "Slam it, faggot" comment. Apparently that's what you have to do to be one of the cool kid VAG owners.

Fuck the haterz, I think it's an awesome car. I highly recommend buying a bluetooth dongle and acquiring an old android phone to run Torque on. It has been worth it's weight in gold for me to be able to check a CEL whenever I need too... because, you know, VAG.

Ok, vwtards - I need to plug in my jesus phone so that it charges the phone, sends audio through the factory radio, and dont want to spend $200+ on the OEM accessory.

Is this the droid I'm looking for? http://enfigcarstereo.com/DENSION_GW1LAU2.html

Also, trailer hitch & bike rack ordered... looks like the easiest hitch install ever, 4 bolts to the chassis and done.

the cool VAG owner in my house enjoys a good slamming too. Not sure what that has to do with firewood, though.

Depends on whether you want bluetooths?

I have the Grom Audio one that was like $80 + the iPod specific cord. It plugged right in, works, no complaints.

Just remember to try and warm it up a little bit first. VAGes are too finicky to be slammed when they're still cold.

I think I can do an add on thing to mine to get Bluetooth for another $50, but I charge my phone in the car a lot so it's really not a big deal to plug it in.

Does the car have Bluetooth built in for voice calls?

I use BT for phone calls and the cord for music on the BMW. I like that method because it keeps the phone charged - handy on longer drives in particular.

Supposedly. I ended up buying the non-bluetooth, no-usb port that also displays things on the little screen between the gauges.

I've never used the bluetooth for anything on my phone, ever... wasnt worth double the cost. Get off of my lawn.

My Grom Audio one won't display the track names on the radio or MFD thingy, which seems like an incredibly basic feature for an ipod integration gadget. Oh well, at least the track skip buttons on the wheel work.

So I got to drive this today. I totally understand now why cars like this make people suspend brain activity to purchase them, cuz it was nice. Really nice. Great seats, smooth ride, sweet handling/feel, and a glorious wallop in the midrange. I was a bit rusty with the stick & my work clogs, but nice shifter too. Would daily, just need a lobotomy first Wink Thanks again RJ!

Trailer hitch & iPhone dealie installed today. Bike rack should arrive next week, and I think I'll be done with making any changes for a little while... although Koni stuff is 25% off through the end of the month.

When the truck is sold I'll set aside a weekend to get it on stands, change all the fluids and it give it a really thorough detail.
