Jake made me a Full Admin this morning, and while still drunk on my new-found power I added the code to support embedding Youtube videos. So here's whatcher gonna do:
Step 1:
Find a youtube video.
Step B:
Copy the video ID. The thingy in the circle for the technically abstinent among us.
Step Tres:
Click the little youtube button on the post page. Like this.
Yo Dawg I heard you like to post so we put a post of your post in your post.
Step Quattro:
Paste the Video ID you copied way back in step 2 between the little [youtube] tags.
Boom!

Pretty simple shit, but I figured I would provide a little tutorial as I'm pretty sure it won't work if you try to use the full URL or the youtu.be shortened URL, it has to be just the VideoID.

Fuck why didn't somebody do this earlier? That seems like it was fairly easy. So much better than links.

nice, thanks!
while you're still on your admin high, want to fix it so links pop a new window/tab?

"Right Click - Open In New Tab" :dunno:
But in all seriousness I think I need server access to make those changes. I'm not that familiar with phpBB but I clicked around and couldn't find anything that would let me access the files in that article. It doesn't seem to be set up like wordpress where you can make changes to the config files on the fly.

no worries, just resurrecting JP's old complaint

It seems like a straightforward change so if someone with access to the server wants to download and tweak a few files we could knock it out. There's always a little bit of stress making those kinds of adjustments on a live site though. I've brought an entire WP install down around my ears by fucking something up in a stylesheet, let alone the actual config files.

I have trouble with some gifs on mobile no matter how I try to view them. Even on wifi my iPhone or iPad will load some instantly, and some will sit on the first frame trying to load indefinitely. Maybe it's a size issue, but its not like either device has any problem streaming a video. :dunno:

I can usually get them if I open up chrome on the mobile devices but I don't feel like going through all that most of the time.
I only forumz on my mobile devices because it gives me a more organized interface. I keep it set on unread and it just shows me everything I haven't read in any sub forum which I like as opposed to clicking each sub forum and scrolling past all the stickies and the random threads that get stuck up top

Anyone else having the issue that when they try to click forward in one of the embedded videos it just goes white with sound only?
Also, did not know the middle wheel click either. Amazing.
