That was my worry. Worse case scenario we cut it out of the flier. I left messages for both people and am awaiting calls. It should be confirmed by the end of the week!

Just a suggestion, you may want to email everyone and make some posts here/on facebook to instruct them to hold off on posting flier...it's great that it was completed but probably shouldn't leave this forum just yet, not until the dyno is confirmed. I've seen a few on facebook already, and at least one person here already said it will be put on some forums tonight. Word spreads like wildfire and we probably don't want to have to backtrack and explain to people why it may not be there if something comes up - best to get our ducks in a row then blast it all over the interwebs.
I swapped the flier on my forum post.
Okay I think the dyno is going to be a no-go. To do it we have to pay insurance, which costs 1000 dollars. He said no matter what that's what he is guaranteed. So if we got 10 cars at 100 a piece then we would owe him nothing. But if we got 10 at 50 a piece we would have to cut him a check for 500 bucks. And then if we got 20 cars at 100 bucks a piece he would take all of that and we would owe him nothing. I just don't see is making 1000 dollars in sales on the dyno to be honest.

Don't throw it out the window just yet. I'd say get a feel for how many MM'ers would pay 50 for it.
You've got Jake and Ryan, or at least they've toyed with the idea. I feel like this is a big ticket item.
I think your profit margin will be slim to none on the dyno. But that's just me.
Now:

Then:

13 Focus ST | 09 BMW 128i |

'01 BMW X5 | '98 Volvo S70 T5M
How many pulls would you get for $50? I highly doubt anyone is going to pay more than $50 for dyno pulls. $100 is definitely out of the question. Most dyno days I've been to or seen are around $30-50 for 1-3 pulls.

2012 Civic Si - Sold
Exactly and we frankly just don't have the cash for that. To make our money back we would 20 people to do 50 dollar pulls... Also profit is not the goal. The goal is to earn the most possible money for Bipolar Aware. If we have to use 1000 dollars to help cover costs for us then we aren't making them much money at all. I just don't think we will come close to breaking even and that's a huge ticket idea. In all honestly was that going to cause that many more people to come? Probably not.

Yeah, I guess. Y'all know best.
Goodspeed, what was the agreement between you and the dyno guy the year you got him to come out to the show? $1000 guaranteed for him to bring his rig out seems a little steep...
Jeez $1000 is pretty steep. I wish we knew if people were going to actually use it or not. $50 for 3 pulls sounds about normal though but who knows if we are getting 20 people.
Also, edit FB FLYERS
I just don't see us getting 1000 dollars from it. That's a lot of money. You're talking 20 cars at 50 bucks a pop in a 5 hour time span. That's 4 cars an hour and if we're doing three pulls per car that three pulls for every 15 minutes. That all seems pretty unlikely to even do if we had the customer base.

You're probably right - I just want to ignore the math because DYNO. It was so awesome. Sigh.
Yeah I would LOVE to have it there and I think it would be awesome but I just don't think it's possible.

I see on facebook that ET Motorsports in Bridgewater has RSVP'd to the event - maybe it would be worth calling them to see if they are interested in dyno'ing a few cars? Maybe call/contact some other local shops/clubs? It may be worthwhile to get a list of area people interested...when we had it in '09 we had an entire group of area diesel trucks show up and we didn't even market to them at all. Heck, maybe Mr. Riddle himself knows of a few people.
