Hey all!
My time as President is almost up! Time to give the torch to someone else!
Election meeting date/ time Thursday April 25h - 7:30- 9 p.m. in HHS
Here we will have the current students wishing to obtain any of the 4 positions- I will have them post up on here and I will simply copy and paste the entrees (names and such) into this original post so you can all read why they are running, what they plan to do to improve the club, their thoughts and ideas etc.
This is not meant to be a heated/ bashing post- flaming or providing negative criticism to the current executives will not be permitted, this post is meant to serve as a way for our alumni and current student body to see who is running and why they are running and what they intend to do moving forward into the new year!

I'd like to run for VP, or Secretary. Whatever the needs me to be really. I'd like to be an officer next year so I can help run this great club, that I've loved and been in for 2 years now.
I'd love to help the club continue to do what we have done this year such as track days, go karting, car shows, meets, and runs up 33. I've had a great time in the club thus far and really want to make sure that current and new members continue to get to enjoy the club as much as I have.
Also for what I'd like to bring to the club next year is a few more meets than we've had, and actually maybe even more classroom time, as I know I enjoyed just getting to sit around a socialize with members at classroom meets 2 years ago. I would also like to have more social events, as Ryan and I are living together next year so I hope to be able to have social meets at our place.
I'd like to thank Dan and all the officers for this past year for doing a great job! I just hope we can keep the club going as well as you guys did this year!

Hell yeah! I may want to "borrow" it over summer. I would also like to run for a position. Possibly treasurer, VP, or wherever else I'm need. I have been a member since I first came to JMU and always had a blast. Whether it was autocrossing, social gatherings, or trips, I always had fun. I definitely want to keep that aspect going. Next year I would like to get more involved with the students and draw some potential ideas they were thinking. I hope next year we can get one more karting in as that always turns out to be a hit. Another thing I would really like to see are moar social gatherings and getting people out (doesn't have to just be drinking). Klines run, pizza trip (Jake), cruise anywhere. I really really really want to continue the ski trip if at all possible. For those who couldn't make it, wow. That was one of the best experiences I had in a while. From skishots to Ryan jumping off that roof there was no doubting that was one of the highlights of the semester. Dan, thanks for everything you have done, it's been one SOLID semester!
Edit: Next semester I will hopefully have the E30 up and I would LOVE it if current members would drive it
I'd ideally want Vice President. And more attendance (maybe fund-raise so other students don't have the excuse of no money) and definitely another in class teaching. I personally loved the one we had this year.

Gotta keep those going Poor Ryan with us tall people. We do really need more social events as well that the alumni can participate. The ski trip was a great time and I felt like I got to know a couple of the current students a lot more. Hopefully set up something similiar for the summer?

Hey yall! My name is Abbie, and I would love to be the club treasurer next year. This club has been great to me ever since I joined, and I really want to give back by offering up my service during my last year at JMU.
I’ve been an MMer for 2 years now. I’m very organized and accountable, and this makes me a good candidate for this job. My mom is also a bookkeeper, so I’ve learned from the best on how to manage money! T-shirt orders would be organized and managed responsibly, and I also want to step up club fundraising next year (possible car wash fundraiser? Raffles?) I will manage the funds that make karting and track days possible and allocate funds as necessary. I will also assist the other officers in planning events. I really want to see karting each semester, Kline’s cruise-ins, classroom meetings, Quaker Steak dinners, the annual car show, more Top Gear nights, more D-Hall lunches, and last but not least…. MORE TRACK DAYS!!! (the March event at VIR as me sold for life) I’d also like to see the club out at more kinds of racing events in addition to VIR, Summit, and AutoX (provided the interest and participation is there). Possible drag racing night at Eastside Dragway in Waynesboro or VMP? I’d like to see at least one social event each week. Another event idea I’ve always had is a club car wash and detailing day on a Saturday when the weather is nice. I don’t know about everyone else, but I hate driving a dirty car!
MM is an awesome club, and I really want to help continue its legacy. We have had such a successful year (many thanks to the current officers for their hard work!), and I think that we can continue to make this club even better next year. Thanks for reading!

Definitely need to get the group out to Eastside for a dirt track race too! As a motorsports fan in general, I never turn down a chance to go see a new form of racing, even if I know it isn't my cup of tea (ie. drag racing, drifting). Spectating new stuff is always enlightening either way.
I'm glad you have intentions of broadening the appeal and interests of the club!

I just want to make sure everyone's interests are covered. I know we lost a member last year because of that, and I don't want to see that happen again. I want everyone to be included

I would definitely be in for some dirt track, rallycross, whatever. I've never seen nor participated in one either and I wouldn't really be opposed to that.

Students who want to run -- post there with your name and desired position, and what you want to do to improve MM.
Grouchy alumni -- go there and ask these poor students some things.
