Texas 2K13 officially starts today, with all of the channels on youtube and pages Im a fan of on FB, videos are coming out, I'll try to keep posting them as they come up.

It's a combination of meet and high horsepower shoot out. It's on private property so it's not street racing. Pretty much just a way for everyone with high horsepower supras, gtrs, etc to show off their wangs. And I love every minute of it.

Ah word so it's on a big ass property where one can hoon with impunity? Sounds pretty cool. On the site there was a track day in there somewhere too?

It started out as a Supra meet in the late 90's, started by a local Texan doctor by the name of Peter Blach that has owned probably 8 or 10 increasingly powerful MkIV's over the years. It grew to encompass more cars (it was basically a joint Supra/Viper meet in the early 2k's) before growing exponentially from about 2007-onward to become the de-facto national high-horsepower megameet/trust-fund playground/street racing nationals.

John Hennessey got in the game a few years back, and the drag racing/dyno happens at Lonestar Motorsports Park, his property. They also have a road racing venue as part of the 3-day event at one of the road courses in the area (I believe its TWS this year). But really, what gets the most attention these days is the 1000+whp highway street racing shenanigans late at night over the course of the event (UGR Gallardos, 1400whp Supras, GTRs, Z06's etc., as Jon said as well as nitrous'd/turbo'd bikes). It really blew up after more and more videos started hitting the youtoubez, and at least last year, the event ran heavily afoul of the law.

I've been following the event since about TX2K2 as it was always cool to see what sort of hardware came out (and for a Supra fanboi, it was basically the event of the year along with the old Supras Invade Las Vegas show). I kinda miss the old days as it was more about people finding out what cars of the era were capable of (a 700hp Supra? A Viper with turbos!? ZOMG!) but now its more of a rich-guy wankfest (though its still a big event for the Supra community).
