"Nissan could have a problem marketing a smaller Z called the 300Z, since the last time a new 300Z was sold in the States was way back in 1986."

Yes. That's a PROBLEM ... :dunno: :?: How is that a problem. Sounds awesome.

I'd love to see a return of the 240/Silvia but I feel like if they build it off the G platform it's gonna be too heavy. Would maybe allow them to be a bit more aggressive on price though.

Sadly, one of the 4 or 5 FR-Ss we have sold here has been sitting in the shop for a couple weeks.

Installed a oil control valve, and a Toyota rep reflashed the computer. Still no fix available other than that. I think we might be replacing the ECU next, but who knows.

Another one has the leaky tail lights.

wait, whats the problem? did you have one blow an engine or something, or just computer glitches?

RX8's had the same tail light issue....i wonder what that is? just cheap sealant maybe.

AIDS is probably a little far there. More like the herp or something...
I thought that I heard the leaky lights was just a the start of the run, and has been identified and fixed since then. Would be interested to hear if the leaky one is one of the very first...

Last I heard from the higher ups, any time we hada tail light issue, we were to call it in so that they could determine whether the problem was extensive or not. they also wanted to know how we fixed it.

There is a software issue somewhere for the VVT system. Apparently hasn't be identified yet. Make the sar run like crap, especially at idle, and sets a code for the VVT.

So, has anyone actually driven one of these? As some of you saw yesterday a deer decided to try and run across 340w yesterday on my way back to MD. It knocked my mirror off, dented my passenger door pretty bad, and pushed in my rear quarter panel. Couple that damage with the cel that is on for an o2 sensor or new cat (don't know which one yet) and I might be in the market for a new car. Not jumping to conclusions as I don't know my budget or if I'm even getting a new car but I'm starting to think about possibilities. Any actual opinions on the Frs/Brz?

I see no reason not to aside from the leaky taillights, idle issues, adn the fact that next year they will be turbocharged significantly decreasing the value of an NA BRZ. See example = solstice.

Where are you getting your facts for the turbo charged model? Subaru keeps saying they won't do it. Internet rumors are all I've seen.

I think if Subaru does a BRZ STi it won't be until the 2014 model year. I don't think it'll hurt regular BRZs' resale value too much because it'll probably be significantly more expensive. No cheaper than $30k at least. I say buy one now if you want one.

I don't care about resale value. If I end up getting a Brz/frs now or any car for that matter, I'm going to drive that bitch into the ground.

I'd guess a 6-7k increase for the STi version. Just going by the WRX @$25k and the STi at $34k.

Do it. They drive pretty damn good.

So my twin brother came into town for Thanksgiving and while here he traded his truck on a new FR-S. I must say, I love this car. It really feels like an updated version of the n/a supra from the 90s. From some of the lines, to the power delivery to the handling. We both took the car on our "proving grounds" round back in the county and it is one of the flattest handling cars I've driven. It def. handles more like a miata or a supra than a corvette. You can have a lot of fun with this car at 40-50mph and don't have to push it really hard to get that adrenaline rush. 3rd and 4th are the best gears for spirited driving. 1st and 2nd are too short and by the time your in 5th your going to fast to safely have fun on a back road. Transmission and suspension are awesome. Engine (while not run hard and not broken in) has great low and mid range power, seems to be lacking up top. I will report after the engine is broken in to see if this changes at full throttle. Overall I love this car. He said his insurance company ran the VIN and it came back as a Subaru. All the hoses, belts, vin tags, door jam sticker, engine tags, etc say Subaru and Fuji Heavy Industries on them. Seems like very little of this car was built by Toyota.

I've heard the suspension is upgraded on the Subaru version, has anyone had a chance to compare the two?
