Can you get early Viper rt-10s ridiculously cheap now or something? There's an RT-10 that just lives outdoors at a rented house near Burke, which makes me think those poor things have hit stupid bachelor daily driver levels of depreciation.

i don't know about "ridiculous" cheap, but part of the reason is that they do have some characteristics that make them a little particular to own. i recall reading that the front clamshell hood is over $10,000 to replace due to being one enormous piece of injection molded plastic....there are a number of wrecked vipers for "pennies" for this reason. too expensive to fix.

Used Vipers have always been the more "affordable" super car. A friend's dad just picked up an 05 SRT 10 with 18,000 miles. He is now the 8th owner! Nobody wants to drive them because of how uncomfortable they are. He took me for a ride, and yes its balls to the wall fast, but it's just raw power. The interior looks like it came out of a neon minus the recaros. We only went for a short drive so I can't comment on handling, but it was fast as hell in a straight line.

Well the seller's ad explains whats not right. He knows NOTHING about any of the engine mods. New tranny? What happened to the original one? Probably bought it realized its a heap of shit and is trying to recoup some dollarz.

Looking through his flickr, the interior is questionable to say the least. 2 holes in steering column for gauges, but only one gauge that is barely hanging on. Passenger door card is fucked. The biggest thing is the FQ 300 badge which is a Euro model? It also has an MR badge on the center console, but is a 5spd so it cannot be an MR (introduced in 05).

03 = No LSD and Exploding Transfer case. Lets not forget it is a 10 yr old car, that has been updated for the 3rd time. No one wants a EVO VIII (except me, 05 RS please), they all want the IX and X. Although due to the shadyness of the car, FQ-300 = RHD/AYC/ACD/6spd, and MR didnt come out til 05 and had a 6spd. My guess is, they threw the badge on the back, and a MR center console in, not surprised considering what they did to those poor seats .

I would really like to drive a Gen 4. Ive heard those drive better than a corvette, and nobody bitches about those. Interesting you hate a 400hp, rwd sports car, but then like driving a portly fwd car. :lol: Ill try to keep my hate of volkswagens out of this thread and ask...why did you hate it so much?
