The market is BEGGING....
There was a mule running around with a current-gen STI wing. Looked great, IMHO

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

its BEGGING to be lowered.

the front end is too high and too much fender gap.

and Im actually glad that they changed the name of the car the GT 86. It stopped being an AE86 revival a long time ago, and is clearly a respawn of the 2000GT.
I would have preferred keeping the 2000GT, but mitsu would probably take issue with that (ironically, considering the 3000GT name was a ripoff of the 2000GT)

still have no idea how anyone could call this car heavy, despite not hitting its initial weight target. the E30 M3 is about 2700 lbs (20 years ago) and they have a reputation for driving pretty well. in these days of airbags, bars, crumple structures, integrated electronic everything....i'd say its not bad.

i'm dissapointed it doesn't look like that concept did. that was a sharp design.

Although I don't love the look that much, I can't wait to see what the aftermarket world has to offer. Toyota has already said they are building this car for the enthusiast and can't wait to see what people do to them. I think Toyota has finally decided to build something for the car guy again and not just another econobox. It really isn't that heavy and with 197 hp it should be fun to drive. Throw on an intake and full exhaust and I bet it will be a pretty decent car. Of course all of this depends on pricing. Side note: The tail lights need an overhaul for sure.

Well I think we're a bit of an abnormal group. How many of us buy new cars? I'd say the overwhelming majority doesn't.

If I were buying new and wanted something in that price range I'd definitely give this a look. Of course it all depends on where it actually ends up on the price scale.

The thing that worries me about price is that the Yen is very strong against the dollar right now, which means that it will be very difficult for them to offer an aggressive price. We might be looking at an extended period where the Japanese will be forced to either make things more expensive or decontent their products into suckiness.

On the flip side, maybe if the Euro takes a dump, we'll get more badass European cars and bikes.
