^ Oh this project is mega bawlin! Totally diggin the camo Valvecover! Great job Taylor!
@#$^&*!!, so if you look closely in the bottom right of valve cover, you can see a crack in the part that holds the timing cover down. I called the guy and confronted him and he denied everything. There was no damage to the box, the crack happened after the dipping was done, and i have a picture of the vc before i sent it and it's obviously not there. I'm so pissed off. Unfortunately I don't know how much there is i can do. Plus, with the crap going on with my truck, I might be taking this guy to court, and just don't need the extra stress trying to get a new vc out of this camo dipping guy. Anyways, Thank you all for the comments. I am so excited to see this project make some progress! I think with the vc, I'm going to try and trim down the timing cover lip and just make it flat, and then paint the end of it black. I don't know, we'll see.

If it's good enough for Channing's oil pan, it's good enough for a valve cover.
taking the guy to court would not pay off in the long run. not even close. this is why i never deal with other people when handling car shit. i never built a motor, i never had anyone do any work... i can't blame anyone other than myself for shit that goes wrong.

this is true. which is another reason i don't really want to do anything. I think i'm going to just eliminate the lip that holds the timing cover down, since i don't use a cover anyways, and make it flat, then paint it black and call it a day.

well today me and my buddy nathan made some progress...kind of. we started getting into the engine bay shave, and started noticing some rust spots, then more, then more, then we took off the fenders, and CRAP! more freakin rust. I decided since i'm tring to do this the right way, I'm just going to stop trying to rush and get the motor in, and just take my time, get all the rust spots figured out, and then get this thing on the road...eventually. no pics today, but the rest of the wiring is through the firewall, the brake booster is off, and went ahead and took most of the suspension back off to keep from rusting and to make keep from getting some rubberized undercoating on them when i re do the fender wells. the fender linings were cracked, busted, and all around crap so they're coming off, which means the wire harness is going to get some serious water proofing before it goes back on the road. I also looked more under the car and will probably scrape off all of the coating and completely redo that. ugh. i kind of wish i hadn't wanted to shave the engine bay. oh well, here we go on a long journey...

Probably for the best to go ahead and get all of that repaired, especially since it sounds like you're going to do a lot of work to the car and keep it. Good luck with the restoration!

If you look closely in the pictures, you can see the guy used the exact same portion of the camoflauge pattern to use with each seat so they are identical
I also finally took some pictures of the *cough*progress*cough*
removed the rear wiper fluid nozzle, no need for that...
Also, removed the rear wiper, won't be driving in the rain
Fenders off, and also some more suspension
And of the course, the all-unmighty engine bay. I'm so far behind on this project...
so to sum up, it's been really slow going, however, i'm expecting to make a lot of headway this next week.
