NASA at VIR - February 20/21 - Work or Race!

We (Me, Rex, Kaan, Sylvia) won't be there until probably closer to 9. The snow kinda screwed us so none of us could take off early from work. We are staying at the trackside suites so we probably wont' see you all until Saturday morning.

We aren't leaving the track once we get there. We'll probably unload and go to bed. We are old, I for one need my sleep friday night so I can hit the tavern saturday night.

Don't hate, I've grown accustomed to staying at the track. Even if the Trackside suites have the worst breakfast known to man, and also have towels that push the water off of you instead of drying you, it still beats having to wake up early to get to the track.

Home after a long and dark drive. I'm exhausted... but what a weekend!! We couldn't have asked for better weather in February - seriously, today was 61 and sunny. Where'd that come from?

All the new guys really had a great time both working and hanging out with you Old Guys on Saturday night. It's tough at times to get people out to the track - until they've been and had rides, worked, been in that atmosphere, there is limited appeal to a lot of people. So, big thank yous to all the alumni who were there this weekend and rounded out the VIR experience. Rex, Julie, Kaan, Pete, Sylvia, Justin, DJ, Mike D, Matt Leech, and whoever else I missed - THANK YOU for doing your thang and helping get the newer guys involved. Special thanks to Julie/Rex for suggesting I try and get everyone some rides, and to Matt Leech for making it happen during HPDE 3.

Probably the best VIR Feb in history. Great racing, great weather, great people. If you didn't come, you can sleep fitfully knowing you totally missed out.

If you look closely in the pic of me and Rex/Julie, you'll notice I'm wearing a Chrysler hat. It came free with the Crossfire (great promo, buy a $35k car, get a free hat! :lol: ) but I proudly rocked it all weekend.

And Oak Tree was badass. I swear the Spec E30 guys have a pool to see who can get closest to that worker station without killing anyone. Good times though.

damn! looks like it was in fact a totally awesome track weekend. all my memories of VIR in february involve numbness and wearing 7 layers of clothes.

oak tree is one of the best stations on the track....how can you get a better seat than that?

No evidence on my body....so far...my one day old NASA jacket has mud all over it though. I think that was from the tree incident......

Well that's good. Felton told the story the best. "At 6:15, I got in the shower, DJ hadn't come in to the room. At 6:30, I got out of the shower, and DJ was asleep in his bed." DJ's recollection starts a little after that. "All I remember is waking up at 8:30 in my bed and going oh fuck I'm late." Such good times at the Tavern.
