Wow.... I don't understand.
When it comes to Ryan Jenkins, the story ends with me putting him in the wall.

1972 Datsun 510, $3k OBO
Quote:Car description:
I'm selling my short lived project car of a 1972 Datsun 510. Why you ask? Because as always I jumped on buying this when it popped up for sale because it was something I've always wanted to play with, but reality has sunken in and I dont have enough disposable income to do this car justice. I have big dreams for this car, but my bank account doesnt agree with me. Much like when I sold my Turbo SER, I know I'll regret this, but whatever..it's just a car. I'll find something else later when I have more moola to play instead of half-assing the car on a budget.
Mods:
L20 (instead of the L16 that comes stock)
Single Weber DGV carb
Magnaflow muffler
280zx front suspension and "big" brake upgrade
280zx dog leg 5spd gear box
Unknown, but supposed to be a Subaru LSD.
Weds 14x6 stupid-lite wheels
This car is a project car as you will soon see. It's not something you'll buy tomorrow and drive to work the next day, but I'm also not asking the insane $6k-10k prices these fuckers bring on ebay either. Having said that, now is the list of the good and bad about the car. Please take the time to read all of it because I may have already answered a question you have.

i would so buy this car if i had to loot at the moment, im like 10 minutes from this car so if anyone is interested lemme know and ill go check it out
paging Scotty!!!
If I didn't already have one datsun to dump money on, I'd totally be interested in this... It's a decent chunk of money, but the 510s consistently fetch bigger $$ than I would expect.
someone buy it, so i can buy it from you, when i get the money...
shit.
I want that 510
are there any easy engine swaps for those cars?
I may drive miatas, but even I need more than 80hp

looks real nice, and clean - not $18K nice and clean but still
oddly enough I saw this today too - is it me or is this seem like a great deal?

There are TONS of options out there for the 510 Evan. An SR would be a simple, powerful option and an awesome bang for the buck, but you can put damn near anything smaller than a straight 6 in there (could probably even do that if you're nuts). That means, anything from a 4 banger to a V8 and all the wonderful options inbetween.
Do it!
And I would looooove to get that M5...

It's a good deal, but not a *great* deal. Between 9 and 12 for a E34 M5 is about right. The engine is very cool, but high maintenance (valve adjustment) and has a couple of unique parts. A E34 540i six speed is probably as good or better of a car.
