"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

It was in my neighborhood and was a result of another vehicle being present so I guess that counts.

I wouldn't count accidents where I was not in the car - its kind of hard to drive defensively when you're sitting in class.

Yes, please leave those out. If you weren't operating the vehicle at the time, then it doesn't count. On that note, if you nudged another car in the parking lot, going 1 MPH and little to no damage was done, a turn signal was cracked or something, I wouldn't count that either. I will also not be counting intentional bumping of my friends at intersections.
And you guys are more than welcome to split out fault, although with some inebriated thought last night, (and yes, that's why only now have I noticed the title said "are" twice....) I didn't want to raise the complexity any more than necessary, so I won't likely take that into consideration. I doubt all of us would agree on who's fault most accidents are. IMHO, almost all accidents are at least in some small part avoidable. So while they may not be your "fault", there might have been something different you could have done. At the least, your decision to put the car where it was at the time when it happened was your choice. So if nothing else, you're just unlucky and if someone else were driving at the time, the accident may not have happened because they wouldn't have been right there at that moment. :dunno:
I could easily say all 5 of my accidents were my fault from one viewpoint. From another, maybe only 1 of them was. There's almost always something else I could partially pin the blame on. Heck, in one of my accidents, I got rear ended. But I'd just made a u-turn, so they decided it was my fault. Whatever! :bootyshake:

I just added fault because I was sure people would give me a hard time for 9 car accidents in 13 years of driving.
