I'd like to know how we're doing vs national averages. We've had a few threads talking about accidents and I think there's enough data in this club to compare. What I'd like to do is update this thread at the end of every year and see how we stack up. Answer these completely, I'll average it all and report.
Please take a few minutes to go over whatever records/pictures you have. Figure out some reasonable "miles driven" figure. Street miles. Car=truck. Any moving accident/contact, while you were driving, regardless of fault, should be added to the accidents field. If an accident resulted in your injury, injury being something that cost $ or lasted for a few days, that counts in both the accident and injury fields. If the accident resulted in your death, do not feel obligated to respond.
I'm going to assume everyone started driving at age 16 unless otherwise noted (Goodspeed!). I may or may not decide to ignore such outliers.

I didn't include my recent dirt-bike spill, as I don't think that really qualifies as "street". Even if it did, the bike wasn't damaged and the injury wasn't very serious.

Paul, I think you can cut your bike accident count down. We're not counting on track stuff.

Ironically, I was just trying to figure how many accidents I've been in during my driving career. I've pretty much stopped driving and riding anywhere of significance since I moved 4 miles from work.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Apoc Wrote:Bike Accidents: 1 (If you call dropping it at 5mph) Up to you. If it was like, while parking it or putting it in the garage or something, I wouldn't count it. If it was at a light, on a road, I would.
