I don't think it is because we are old, it is because we are in houses now that we care about and neighbors who pitch a shit about stuff. I wonder how lenient Mike D's neighbors would be.....as I know my neighbors care too much for shenanigans (and Jess might kill me if our brandily new renovated house got a scratch/I might kill someone)

only 2 mkIV's i think, they just make it into all the photos because they're baller.
Dave and Ryan T both had N/A's, although Dave's was a slicktop I think (rarer), and he got his money's worth when he sold it.
i'll never forget when Dave took me out in his to show me the TT brakes he just installed. i literally thought i broke my collarbone on the seatbelt.

Well I did throw this together for last year's Student Org Night... and I really do mean "threw together." Half of it is other MM'ers videos.

I had that same feeling when he gave me a ride at that '05 auto-x. My god those brakes are strong. I think they held the 70-0 record for Motor Trend until the Carrera GT came along.
Dave's was targa while Ryan's was the hardtop - the HTs have always been sought after but the funny thing is that Dave's Anthracite colored car used to be unfavored by people for the color, but now they're really sought after and rare. (It always was a really cool color, I don't know what some people were thinking). He might have rode the wave of popularity in the color, and I know Ryan had a bunch of people trying to throw money at him for the hardtop!
We need to get some old school representing in this thing. I will say, though, that it's awesome to see the traditions continuing.
Here are some that come to mind, circa 1999-2003ish:
1. Gerald walking into the room sophomore year asking "hey, can you come check this out?" Turns out he late braked a little too late and understeerd his civic? integra? into a curb with his mom riding shotgun.
2. Sean Schutte Evil Knievel-ing his motorcycle through a plastic table, through a railing, off a 5' porch, and landing under a car.
3. Gerald and Channing's XMMas party (I helped but it was their idea) with hugely successful whip cream wrestling contest and stripper pole. Where are those NSFW and Feersty pics?.
4. The "Cruise" over 33, through Franklin WV on 220 to Monterrey, over 250 back and 42 up to Harrisonburg. Sean Schutte in his E30, Dave Allen in his 240, Alison (now my wife) in her Miata, and me in the XR. I think I passed 12ish cars at once going up 33?
5. G and I riding wheelies outside of John Chapin's house at a burn-it-down party
4. RJ and I riding wheelies outside some apartment complex. That time didn't end quite as well
5. Taking Gerald one one of his first crotch rocket rides, ending with his adrenaline pumping so much he literally could barely stand.
6. Teaching Gerald to drift in my F150 in the parking lot of Grand Home Furnishings
7. Jumping the train tracks on the way to Summit Point, accidentally aiming right at Rex and Julie as they pulled in from a side road.
8. Jumping the same train tracks with DJ in the back seat.
9. Gerald pulling me while I rode a snowboard behind the truck through campus.
10. "Ice Fishing" in my F150 with some of the newer generation in the Kohls parking lot, Blair being pulled on a snowboard while on a jeep. Cops came, DJ jumped in my truck, and the only way to avoid said cops was to dukes-of-hazard through a 6' tall snowbank over a median. We got away though.
11. Backwards golf cart racing
12. Being on the radio when Chad (2kgt, most of you don't know him) rolled his Mustang at VIR during his 3rd or so AI race.
No pictures handy unfortunately. They do exist though, maybe some others will post.

Taylor, it's time to add more to that video and show it at our first meeting or something
DJ, yeah that too. Kaan's neighbors probably wouldn't care that much? He is out in the middle of nowhere after all
The shower room.
The Spotless Spoon award. This was a sign hanging from the McD's in Danville. I pulled it down and we put it on George Knighton's Spoon'd out ITR.

When there's nowhere to park at Summit, make your own parking.
Jack's pants from the MM party at Chris's house. I took a bag of chips and make the walk with Matt from over near Copper back to Eagle, but I took a wrong turn and ended up stepping on a skunk, then peeing out in the field next to food lion.
I took this beauty on the way to Karting my freshmen year. Garrett said someone was steering for him. Who knows.
Kaan the master carver
Oh, and this.
Lastly the night I wrestled Jack, my non-MM friends wanted to have a case race before MM showed up, so I was sufficiently plastered. I ended up locking my roommate out of the house that night. Apparently.
Bonus points for the MM colors in that rage text!
The picture of us going to see Furious 7. Nothing like 15 dudes all crying like little babies.
The time we scared Scott shitless on the way back from karting. Brake check + screaming while he was asleep. He didn't even scream his eyes just popped wide open like his life flashed before his eyes
How I raced a tc or tsx or something on the highway on the way to karting with 5 people in my car because peer pressure sucks.
How I supposedly could barely walk after a party at Samantha's and Chris' and I was carried up to my apartment I fell on to the table which banged my roommates wall and woke my roommate up. My roommates undressed me to my boxers and took pictures of me (Sam Spicer where those pics)
The snow drifting and north38 sledding sessions.
Taylor that's when Garrett got this picture of my car:

I wish I still had it, but not for the financial aspect. It was a blast to drive and got attention everywhere I went. But, I sold it to buy my first Corvette so I wasn't too heartbroken at the time. I bought it, drove it for 4 years and 40k miles, it got hit twice at JMU and I still made several thousand dollars on it when I sold it. I had at least 4 or 5 people in line to buy it and some guy drove down from MD with a shoebox full of $100 bills and bought it.

I'm pretty sure this is the event where when I was riding along (I think that's me), you did that hilarious tank-slapping backwards slidey J-turn maneuver (I think that best describes it, it was like riding in a roller coaster upside down and backwards) through a cone gate, without hitting a cone or going off course

I remember that, I don't have any idea how I pulled it off, but I managed to stay on course! You took a video at some point of my at an auto-x in the vette pounding off the rev limiter in a straight stretch.
I remember my first auto-x at verona, riding with Kaan in his CR-X. He went into a really sharp turn with a full head of steam and went so far off course that when we finally came to a stop the caution tape around the far edge of the course was touching the car. I think I knew at that moment MM was where I needed to be. Also remember when they made a stop-box so wide that when Mike's hatch finally stopped it was sideways in the box and still wasn't touching any cones.
Another fun memory was at VIR doing a ride along with Gerald in RJs Type R. I think that car's been gone long enough that it's safe to tell. Flying up the uphill S's we went two tires off on the right and Gerald got it right back on track no problem then went on through oak tree. In that back straight he calmly said, "Don't tell RJ we did that."

I found a bunch more vids! Most of them were filmed on my 5MP Canon Potatoshot (Youtube can't handle the 320x240!), Paul Galleron filmed Jeff's vids.

Jack was telling me about that bike! The purple one I'm pretty sure is his Dad's which he was riding last year!

40? Rear view mirror for me mofo.
This is great, I saw a few faces most days and it's great to see what was happening when I commuted back home to the wife and kiddos.
Thanks to MM, this old guy on campus had some people he could really relate too. I always wanted to do track stuff but it always seemed like you had to have a "race car". MM taught me otherwise.
My introduction to the track was ballin around Summit with Evan..in his Titan. (think it was a trackdaze event). I'm pretty sure he was trying to describe the track and where to be, I couldn't hear him over my thoughts of "Fuck man, hit the brake, don't you see the turn!".
Managed to attend at least one hang out at Sheetz where Ryan was working at the time. Ended up with a bit of a fuel leak in the vette and in MM fashion, Ryan took me over to AutoVance for some o-rings (in the Supra), fixed it in the Sheetz parking lot and drove it out of there like I wanted it to catch on fire.
I've done a few track days and autox and always had a blast with the group. Not nearly enough.
A lot less shenanigans this time around at college (actual degree this time though), but good times thanks to MM!

Nah we just went sideways at South Bend. The reason I remember is another guy in a yellow Type-R was following us, and told me after the session that watching us, he ended up doing exactly the same thing.
I still kinda want a ITR after all these years
