Yeah, that certainly was easy button.
I don't know shit about it and the GPU is pretty much outdated, but it can run Crysis :dunno:
Looking at 4 TB split between 3 drives, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 750 Ti, AMD FX 8350 at 4GHZ, seems to be a really nice case with some LEDs and 4 big fans. Don't know what board is in it but it has tons of ports on it for different things. Two 20"+ monitors, the surround sound Logitec Speakers with sub I've had for a while, some cheap gaming mouse I've had, and I also picked up a Corsair Strafe Keyboard yesterday. I think we're doing okay.
34" 21:9 monitor I recently bought, on sale for $250:

So, my computer comes out of sleep mode randomly at times, and also whenever I turn on my bathroom light or anything on my nightstand. Does that sound like a faulty surge protector?
Sounds like your mouse may be confusing random light for movement. Does the computer normally resume when you move the mouse? What happens if you turn that off?
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

Didn't think of that! I'll test when I get home. I do know I can repro with my little desk fan, which emits no light.

Bringing this back from the dead.
Its time to finally replace my Best Buy special keyboard that won’t register 3 keys in the same area at the same time.
Looking to spend <$60-80. Doubt a mechanical keyboard is in my budget for that but I’ve never used one so idk if they’re worth it anyway.
Playing mostly WoW leading up to the new expansion, may pick up overwatch if it’s on sale again, and arma3 along with some other random games if that influences anyone’s recommendation.

I just use whatever the cheapest Logitech keyboard is. Doesn't have a problem registering a bunch of keys at once, but I've ran into off brand keyboards like that before.
Definitely get Overwatch if you haven't played it yet. It has the most variety of pretty much any modern first person shooter and they add new content for free all the time. It's the only game I've been able to consistently play for over a year since CS:GO. Granted, I mostly play mystery heroes so that helps with the variety.

Mechanical keyboards are available on amazon all day for $20-$30. Usually have blue switches, no name chinese brand but they work well.
I have one, its solid. Blues are definitely a by-yourself-in-the-basement kind of keyboard though as they are very loud. I prefer browns for typing but there is a certain satisfaction in the feedback of a blue switch.
You may be able to find one with red switches for about the same price.
I went through this and ended up with the Logitech K360. It's been flawless

Ended up with the Corsair K55 like Scotty recommended. Seems cool so far. Huge improvement from the bestbuy one. That one was paper thin and the key travel was almost non existant so you never really knew if you pressed the button or not. This one feels amazing in comparison and the colored backlight is a nice touch. Never had a keyboard with a wrist rest thing and its amazing. Would recommend.
Was gonna pick up overwatch until I realized it had gone up to $40 and the price I saw of $20 was just during the free weekend. Not worth that much to me, so I'll just wait till the next sale I guess.
Suggestions on what to put on the macro keys? I've never had them and idk what to really do with them.

Any time I've ever had macro keys I bind something to "ctrl-a + ctrl-c" for a "select all and copy"

I know this a long shot but is there anyway to bypass the password in a MacBook? My FIL's business partner died and no one can figure out his password. Without a long drawn out legal situation it seems unlikely they will be able to unlock the computer. Any ideas?

Any idea how old it is or whether he had full disk encryption enabled? You might be able to get the files off at least if it wasn't. well, somebody might be able to...

These are individual MacBooks and why I've tried to tell him to get a real network setup and stop using AOL email... Shocker he can't access that account either. Total disaster situation due to being stuck in his ways and technologically illiterate.

I'd surprised if Apple couldnt open it for the executor of the estate, assuming you could prove ownership

Apple probably can but we are looking for a more timely manner. I can only imagine the bureaucracy to get Apple to unlock it.

i assume you've tried this: https://www.cnet.com/how-to/reset-bypass...c-macbook/
Any idea which version of MacOS is on there? I'm guessing someone savvy could maybe boot into single-user mode and reset the password from the command line.
Maybe. I dunno. Too many unanswered questions. Is full disk encryption turned on? Is there another account you can log in with at all?

I'm assuming it's got FileVault enabled and that is fairly secure from what I know. I talked about a similar situation (iCloud activation lock on iPad) with an ex-colleague from my Apple Retail days, back when Henry died. She said that you can bring the device in to the store and with the iOS devices, they can be unlocked in-store. The executor will have to go, and bring a copy of the death certificate with them. Please for the love of all who work there, make a Genius Bar appointment so they have the time set aside. I don't know if this will work with the laptop but it could be worth a phone call to the store to ask.
If you want to confirm, call Apple Tysons' Corner and ask to speak to Lori B, the manager. Tell her you're a friend of mine. We worked together at Fair Oaks.
