I know haha! I keep begging Andrew to make Sam send me all of the pictures of the build, but it's like pulling teeth to get Sam to do anything. I lost my temper at him so I don't call him anymore... not because he doesn't build a good motor, but because he won't return my phone calls. That, along with being late, are two of the things that bug the living shit out of me.
I promise I'll take tons of pictures with my shitty camera on the dyno day, and hopefully the guys at A-tech will be filming and taking pics too. You know I'll be posting the results as soon as I get them!

If I am paying a person as much as I think you are, they should be able to snap a couple fucking pictures of my engine as they put it together. Doesn't matter if you're the best damn engine builder on this side of the country, appeasing a customer should still be high on any shop's list, as long as the requests are reasonable.
Where are you getting it dynoed and tuned? I would love to be there to see these amazing numbers. This car is gonna be sick. I cant go for a ride in it, itll ruin any car I ride in except for 1000+ horsepower cars after that.

At this point, I'm honestly not anticipating huge numbers, especially just on pump gas. Maybe I'm just trying not to jump the gun, but we'll see. Now, if I can find some race gas we could really push this car, but because of the incredibly tight head studs, the guys at TXS are going to have to be really careful to tune it slowly and deliberately. That's going to cause the motor to be very sensitive to knock. BUT, those upgraded studs will allow me to run up to 60psi of boost, so the power potential is definitely there.

Are they threaded? A lot of heads these days come with pressed in - at least in the domestic world. That basically sucks. I had my heads machined with guideplates and had screw in studs put as soon as I got them

Oh I'm with you dude. 100%. In fact I called Sam and got blown off for the last time about two weeks ago and FLIPPED the fuck out. I called Andrew @ Andrewtech and fucking screamed at him on a long winded message to get Sam to call me since he wouldn't return my calls. The dude finally called me back and sounded really scared to do so hah. I don't think I've ever colorfully used the word "fuck" as many times as I did in that message.
Sam apparently does have a full spec list on the motor as well as pictures of the entire build, it's just like pulling teeth to get him to send them to me. Which makes no sense, because when I get them and the motor is tuned, you know I"m going to be blowing it up all over every Subaru and STI forum I frequent, including a few others. It's nothing but good press for the guy if it ends up positively, so I'm not sure how he can't find time to send them.

UPDATE:
Andrew called me yesterday and I all could hear was the rumble of the engine! They just got it started up and they have a goal of getting it back to me by Friday.
It's going to be very difficult not to lay into this thing for the first 1500 or so. I will just be happy to have it back. I promise I'll keep everyone posted on they day I set up for the final dyno tune up at TurboXS after the motor is broken in, in case anyone wants to come hang out.
