Looks good man, I like it! How was the fuel mileage driving it back?

PS...you’re the only one with your trunk open...

Shhh I had to blend in with the crowd.. Fuel mileage coming back at about 80mph was 23mpg so honestly not as bad as I expected, benefits of opting for the S with the 6-speed instead of 5-speed.

Also super comfortable, only thing is a whistling noise from the mirrors which is apparently on the turbos as well. Only hear it with the top and windows down, but still want to figure out if I can do anything about it.

The trunk being open is hilarious. I hope some people walked by expecting an engine. Please do this at the car show.

Also, Brandon and Scott. Happy 21st birthday to whoever bought the beer Wink

I love the road trip story... from what I remember, that 10 hours of driving was supposed to be about 5.5? Sounds ambitious, a bit dumb, and fitting for MM. Nicely done!

Can't wait to see this at VIR in March and run a few pace laps in it Wink It looks great and I think you'll have a ton of fun. Glad someone else in MM can show me what ownership of one of these early 987's is like before I eventually pull the trigger myself.

Definitely one of my dumber ideas but all part of the fun and MM tradition. I'll try and grab some laps while I'm working during the March event, but I'm welcome to it being pace car for a lap or two as long as I get a ride along Wink

They all show up on my computer? Were broken at first but I think I fixed it with a different Imugr link.

It was just the start of the trip? Mainly what happened on the highway while we were driving to karting in the morning.

Wish I could have gotten the tan interior but a good deal was to be had on this. Also, Joey mentioned the reflection on a light color was killer on the windshield. Never noticed it on my TL with a tan interior but it also had a black dashboard which is probably why.

that story sounds like classic MM shenanigans, thanks for keeping the tradition alive. i've been in your seat before (heading towards accumulating snowy interstate on a tight schedule and it keeps getting worse) but that was in a minivan with all-seasons. you get the big balls / questionable valor award so far this year as far as i'm concerned.

the 987 looks awesome! can't have a good roadtrip without some weather coating the sides of your car!

Awesome, glad to see the torch of car craziness being passed down each generation

Great pick up and I'm also curious to see how this goes. Porsche as a brand has grown on me a lot over the last year or so. My one big complaint historically has been how terrible a lot of their models exhaust sounds. That's not a blanket statement because I have heard some good ones...but I've equally heard as many that sound like a can of bee farts

So far I love the sound especially when I get on it. Having the induction right next to my ears helps a lot, but having the engine behind me drowns out the exhaust sometimes. Already thinking of an exhaust or muffler delete but want to keep a classy sound and keep my wallet happy unless I can buy a cheap used one.
