So they split the race groups into three (instead of two) for the actual races, but qualifying is still just Thunder and Lightning.

My qualifying will have a minimum of 94 cars in it. This will be... fun?

That's hopeful :p. Pretty much just expecting a shit show for qualifying and going to skip warmup.

Yeah, both Chump Car races I've run at VIR had about 80 cars on track, max. Another 15+ will be tough. Ignoring the giant talent spread of Chump races, I'm not sure if I ever got more than one or two laps in all of my stints where I'd say I had enough open track to put together a really solid "qualifying" type of lap.

Just gotta hope I qualify better than some of the field, among the melee.

We are looking to have up to 13 racing in GTS 2 this weekend which is super exciting.

Taking it back to the old days with 3 run groups! Stinger/Thunder/Autobahn. But since all the cars in the 3rd group aren't German, Typhoon makes sense.

Hyperfest was awesome! It was great to have so many MM'ers coming for the first time and enjoying it and we had so many members working! I had a blast getting to see behind the scenes in Timing and Scoring all weekend and putting the MMoped to good use. For those who didn't make it, I think the highlight of the weekend was watching a V8 miata blow its clutch during the burnout competition, then the entire car catching on fire and the owner running back to grab a beer from the car and chug it. Unfortunately not everyone in MM had such a great weekend, but I'm glad everyone is okay! Very glad to see so many new faces out there!

To Jake and Zach, I hope you guys had enough soap Sunday for showers.

"Hey guys, this is actually a pretty dangerous spot to sit" - Me 5 minutes before this drifter slammed the wall 10 feet from us. Best part was me lending him tools so he could get the bumper off before the tow truck hooked up. Apparently that guy "fucks with" me.













It was kind of surreal driving back with the RetireMMent Home (sans Jake) and eating in Lynchburg. It's weird being back in my hometown with people I've only known through JMU.

Good times as always despite some of the carnage on track. I can usually tell it was really fun when there are very few pics on my phone. It was good to see everyone even though I don't think I saw anyone for as long as I would've wanted since I bounced around quite a bit. Speaking of which, did any of you guys find a grey North Face rain jacket in the worker room?

Good times as always despite some of the carnage on track. I can usually tell it was really fun when there are very few pics on my phone.

This. I think I took 8 pictures total. Was a great weekend despite the scorching temps and limitless sunshine Fri and Saturday. I didn't get to see everyone or hang out as much as I would have liked to, but that is understandable with how busy this event is for people working and driving.

I can tell you that a golf cart can clear the monster truck jump very well with 2 people in it. You can also complete the offroad course in the middle of the night in said golf cart. That was tested for uhhhh science :thumbup:
