I don't think you would be sad with a Tundra. I really liked every Toyota truck I owned, including my first gen V6 Tundra. If I were looking at brand new trucks though, the F-150s have pulled away from the Tundras in terms of fit and finish and basically every other category. I was really underwhelmed when comparing a top of the line 1792 edition Tundra (over $55k hock: ) to Platinum / Limited / Raptor F-150s.

so after looking at every truck in my price range and reading up on them... the Tundra came out on top for what I "need."
Tow a little Honda and Jeep, haul a little trash and wood, be reliable...
the 5.4L fords fall on their face (modular engine issues plus weaker transmissions) and I cant get an Ecoboost for the my budget. I cant find a 6.0 chevy 2500 (with the upgraded trans) that doesn't have a ton of miles or a lift (or both) in my price range. the 5.3L chevy doesn't cut it for power or trans life. While Evan might have had a lot of good luck with his Titan, I've read too many issues that have chased me away from it. I can find Tundras in my price range and they are getting great life span reviews from mostly weekend warriors (car and boat guys)... AND they can be found where people didn't really use them for ANYTHING other than going to work and getting groceries.

I think that generation of Tundra is attractive only if you're blind or really liked Transformers, but the Limited is my favorite out of what was linked. Body color bumpers help the styling a lot, as does the upgraded interior with the floor shifter.
IMO it looks like Toyota was trying too hard to be macho/American/I-swear-I'm-a-real-truck with the interior, the older Tundras were more streamlined.

do you think the Jeep or integra are going to offer a smoother ride? "comfort and gas mileage" are in the very little shits given column.

Is this a Toyota thing or specific to the Tundra? My old man has a 2010 Tacoma TRD and I find the ride to be quite nice given the Bilsteins.

Im honestly curious what the internets is saying about titan issues so I can keep an eye out. In the (distant) past i read a lot of people complaining that the rear end wasnt bigger (harhar) but I hadnt heard of any actual failures at the time.
Yeah I'd like to know as well -- The Titan (08+) was on my short-list of possible future truck purchases.
From what I read on the Titans:
- you have to get a +08
- it must have the Tow Package (for the trans cooler/gauge)
-there are some stories of the 4wd Titans towing heavy and high that have random overheating issues... engine and trans, even with the tow package
-there are some stories of all the models not holding enough diff fluid in the rear, they aren't breaking but they are killing the fluid when they tow often. lots of guys are switching to finned aluminum aftermarket covers that also add fluid capacity
-Rust belt trucks (even the +08s) are having shackle mount issues

Time to bring back an old thread from the dead.
And start another debate.
Years: 2010-2012
5.7L SR5 4x4 Tundra Double Cab 6.5ft bed vs 6.0L Z71(is this package worth it?) 4x4 Silverado 2500 Extended Cab 6.5ft bed
Both have similar things you get. Similar cheap interiors. Ride fine. I'm not worried about stiffness so don't bother bringing that up. I daily a stiffer than usual car... And have ridden in Kaan's Tundra. It seems fine. Both tow similar weight. I'm more worried about maintenance and things to watch out for. I've looked at both in person just haven't driven them.
Budget: Mid 20s.
I hate the interiors of the GMT900's (they're higher quality but worse layout vs my GMT800, IMO) and I'm staunchly anti-Toyota. So, I'd get a Ford.
That said, the 6.0 is a good motor in the GM's. The version that would be in a GMT900 is the same motor that my Denali has, but with the addition of variable valve timing. It's called the LY6.

after putting similar miles on my Tundra that you have put on your Denali... i have NO idea why you are so anti toyota
