Whenever I ride with my mom (who always runs freezing), she can turn her side to 78 and it barely blows any air. I crank mine down to 69-70 and I get a nice cold breeze. Why you wouldn't want this feature is beyond me.

In both cases I just don't understand why, if she wants no air, it is so hard to close the maybe two vents within arm's reach that are on her side of the car. Sure, it saves 3 seconds to push a button instead... I've just never been that pressed for time while sitting captive in a car.

I don't need the dual zone, but I definitely prefer climate control. My old car had it and this one doesn't, I'm constantly fiddling with the damn fan speed, it's annoying.

It's not that it blows no air. It blows a minimal amount which is enough for her. Unlike her, I prefer a cool breeze hitting me when its 95 degrees outside.

Or how about whoever is driving, they have control of the radio,AC,heat, where the fuck they want to go because you signed up to be passenger. To hot? Open a window. God forbid you have fresh air. To cold? Shutup I'm driving. Especially if I'm driving you somewhere as a favor.

Or you have dual climate control and each person has their way with no conflict?

The only time I had a car with it was the old M3 and I hated it for two reasons. One the ac system was old and therefore never achieved cold enough to have it set anywhere but the lowest setting which still wasn't enough. And two, bmw seemed to forget that sometimes you may want to adjust both sides and I'd have to lower/raise both sides separately and independently which was just slightly annoying. I feel like there was something else that made this more annoying. Do the M3's also change the temp or blower settings when you turn the car off? I feel like something like that annoyed me also. Maybe I would have it turned off cause it sucked and it would always turn itself back on on restarts.
Now, if the system is functional, i could see it being nice in a modern car that's you know not a 20 year old BMW but I also don't really care anymore. I wanted one so bad until I had the M and it kinda ruined it for me now

I don't know what you all are talking about, dual climate control is so money if you ever have a woman sitting in your passenger seat.

I'm actually gonna break this down, its weird to explain unless you're experiencing it. So lets say i'm blown 60 and and passenger is blowin 80 and the whole car is 70. Well if passenger closed the vent he would *feel* colder than it really is since the car is constantly being cooled and you can still feel a bit of a draft from the open vents as passenger from driver side. So instead, he has a heat that's warming him, whether gently or violently, and taking off that chill effect that passenger somehow experiences at 70. Get it now? I know this from practice  Sully Wrote:The only time I had a car with it was the old M3 and I hated it for two reasons. Hmmm, my setting doesn't change but it automatically turns itself on and that annoys me in spring/fall but its really nbd. I think its dumb that in the E36 you have the digital control and then you have those *sttuuuupppiiidd* dials right under the vent. I still can't understand why that's necessary. And tell me about the AC not cooling enough cool to actually cool, it's not even summer properly yet and I'm already losing the cool.

Apparently that main vent with the dials is the shit when the system actually has enough strength to cool the car
