When I did the Walbro/rewire install in the Supra (all new wiring and relays), they did get hot to the touch, which IIRC is perfectly normal.

well went to drive it yesterday and it didnt shut off.....just went straight lean and i smelled gas!!!!, only went like 10 blocks and it dropped by like 1/8th of a tank. Got back home and the copper o rings used to seal the Fuel filter werent sealing enough. I assume the lean condition is due to the fuel leaking and pressure dropping off instead of rising with boost, this may explain why the system isnt holding pressure as well. Im really close to just trailering this thing up to MachV and telling them to fix it. This car needs to burn in hell.......

So you failed twice now on installing stuff. Yes, time to take it to a professional. I charge one Sparco Evo.

Is the 2g fuel filter the same as the 1g's (dual copper washer banjo fitting at the top, compression fitting at the bottom?) The "universal" FRAM after market fuel filter I bought for the Talon would not have worked correctly because the bottom inlet for the compression fitting did not have a seat for the fuel line (the OEM one does) thus the compression fitting cannot compress against anything and the line would leak everywhere. Luckily I realized this before I installed the new filter and wasted a bunch of time....

thats a good question, ive been in a frenzy to just get this damn thing fixed im not sure. Did you just go with an OEM filter? DJ you remember what fuel filter you used?

Used an OEM. For 20 bucks why would you waste your time buying something universal and possibly creating more issues? KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid).

And yes they are the same (90-99)

Just checked, it is the same for the 1g and 2g. I just bought an OEM Mitsubishi filter. If you go on Rockauto, some manufacturers offer "universal" filters that won't work, you need the OE style filter. Example: Fram G8164 will bolt up and leak everywhere, Fram G6553 "should" be the right part.
