"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

Behold our new 12 years old family car:
NON-TURBO
NON-AWD
AUTOMATIC
Volvo V70
On the plus side it's good to be back in what feels like a proper German car, complete with not-quite-everything-working dash lights, peeling A-pillar fabric, miserable headlights, no line-in or bluetooth, and wiper blades I cannot get at Advance Auto. BUT, it's the last wagon you can get in the states with a 3rd row (not including Mazda 5 mini-minivan)! Transmission doesn't suck, the 5cyl makes pleasant noises, interior is really nice, and PO put the R wheels on it with 235 tires and tossed the turning radius out the window.
I like it enough that I won't mind spending money on it to keep it on the road.

i like in Chan, those I-5's are super cool engines. i bet there's a ton of room for activities in that thing.

Snagged this oil burner rolling through town the other day with big ol' rally lights on the front.
Left me a little hot and a little bothered.
Nice! Is it a proper third row or rumble seat? My friend just bought a 2008ish E350 wagon because he said it was the last model year for that car to have a rumble seat. Not that I paid much attention, but I thought the whole third row/rumble thing was looooong gone with bell bottom jeans. (the first go around, not the second time they tried to come back)
FWIW - I have another friend that bought a 2014ish All-Road about same day I got my F31. We set up a European Sport Wagon support group chat . Doing our part to keep the wagon alive!

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...
Those are R wheels? You sure?

Those are the "Thor" wheels which were on a 2002ish S60 non-R. All R's got the fat 5-spoke wheels.
Wagon looks great though! I dig those pretty hard, guessing this is what replaced the Accord? Has to be more entertaining and useful for y'all.

I had no idea the E350 had that option in the states, that came up in none of my many searches for wagons with a 3rd row. I feel that either the internet has failed me in some way or that was just a really obscure option.

GFY Troll. Hardly anyone makes a unicorn estate anymore so I'll take em when they come.
I saw one of those in person the other day, did a double take, stopped for a second, and thought I needed it.

its ugly. the proportions are off. the front bumper looks like a fucking catfish. and while I cant see it, i can only fathom the rage I will feel in seeing the interior with its SEAT CONTROLS ON THE FUCKING DOOR PANEL. the worst.

Love it.
Ive seen one in black and one in silver in real life. The white beats them both.
edit: I guess I saw the "old" one. Looked like this

Go grab a Honda, you aren't you when you don't have one.
The E55 and original E63 wagons were better.

IDK if it's a Euro thing, but the review wheels look 1000% better than the exhaust vid wheels. The look like those horrendous VW GLI wheels.

They should have never changed the E63 wagon. It was perfect. The new one is awful looking.
