To all drivers thinking about participating (which should be all of you rwd guys!!)

We as event planners are under a deadline to gather the drivers necessary to make this event happen on October 29th. Without you as Drivers we have no event and need your attendance to make this event, and ones to come, a success. We feel very strongly about the possibilities of this track, and really want to bring an event to drivers at this location. However, unless we have twenty drivers pre-registered by October 9th at midnight (day after DriftNirvana/ECDC), we will have to pull the plug. Considering the track rental costs, and the offering of a cash prize, we simply canÔÇÖt provide the EPIC experience at this righteous venue without enough drivers! We hope to get some input back from you all, and are hoping for the driver count to jump and make this happen! Happy drifting

So DJ?!? Still thinking about this event? Drift Nirvana just ended tonight, and we are requiring at least twenty driver sign-ups by midnight of Sunday night: 10/9). We're hoping to get several people who were waiting for that event to end to now sign up for this one. We'll see. But you should definitely register if you're on the fence and stuff ha
*edit. Just saw your original post that you needed to wait for VIR to end. That's cool, let me know what you're thinking when you return

Yeah,

Cant make this, need to let my body recover. All this running around the past year with work, the car, the ex; has put a lot of stress on myself with little breathing room. The crash last saturday into the wall messsed up my back, shoulders and neck, and then I got some sort of sickness right as I do my three days of comp school, racing, time trials, broke up with the girlfriend last week, and stress at work. Ended up on the side of the road on 95, dizzy, lightheaded and pouring out blood out my nose. Ill be taking a little while off.

Totally understand man. Sorry to hear about the wreck, never a fun thing to deal with, especially the aftermath of the car/your body.

Well guys, we simply didn't have enough drivers sign up, so things had to get flipped around for DriftValley. Here's the message I sent out to everyone:

Due to low pre-registeration count, we have been forced to change the event so that we may afford to run the track for the day. The event will now be a semi-private test and tune restricted to 15 drivers. The new cost for this 8 hour stint on this irwindale-esk track, will be $120 for drivers and $20 per spectator.

Drivers:
The day will run as strictly a practice test and tune, so no competition will occur this time.

Gates now open at 10am, but we suggest you arrive by 9:30 so we can register drivers and square everyone up. When gates open at 10 we can start sending cars on track right away. We have to be off the track by 6pm, so there will be loads of seat time. Bring TONS of tires if you plan to drive!!!

Spectators:
The track day IS still open to spectators, however, the grand stands will not be open. Spectators will be limited to the pits as well as watching from the surrounding gate of the oval. Porta-potties will be on location. We're working with what we have, and this was the only way to make drifting still happen on this day. Spectator cost will be $20 for anyone entering the gate (one of our conditions to being able to run this track day still).

Let us know if you have ANY questions! Thanks!

So we were pretty much forced to run a day that's not very spectator-friendly being $20 and all, and the closing of the stands. But if anyone was interested before, it's still going to be an awesome event. Seat time for the drivers has doubled, and spectators would still have an awesome time and get to ride with drivers still as planned. I'll be getting to drift a lot more actually, so that'll be sweet.

Post up any questions you guys have!

This event is not this weekend, but the next! I know it's a bummer that spectators will have to pay $20 to get in, but I can guarantee anyone from MM who comes that they will get a ride along, if not multiple rides.

Hope to see some of you out there.
