Keep in mind the 60 degree cone sets are designed for "tuner" wheels and should not be used on stock wheels.

This is a good tip to keep in mind for anyone getting new wheels. Something about the shape of the "wells" where the studs pass through is different from stock to non-stock wheels - at least a good amount of the time. It's not safe to run stock lugs with aftermarket wheels in a lot of cases. I had to get new lugs for my Koseis.

Hmmm. I'll have to check it out, i wonder if it makes any difference that the stock Evo wheels are Enkeis?

I know Enkeis off the 8/9 evos used Mag style lugnuts, not Tuner or Ball style lugnuts. Look at your lug nuts that came with the car, if they look like they have a washer on them, they are mag style lugs.

Hmmm, I wonder if my TRMs have the correct wells for the nuts. They seemed to seat properly, I feel like I would've noticed "one of these things is not like the other"

I had my Koseis mounted for a while with stock lugs... they seemed to seat properly but everything I read indicated that I needed proper lugnuts for them. So... I bought some. I guess for my street driving it was fine (but not entirely safe) but for any sort of performance driving (like things with turns) it's a good thing I changed them.
