I remember reading a newspaper article a few years ago about considering the civic an up-and-coming vehicle. The body panel tolerances were getting very close, relative to the cars it was marketed against, it was starting to get better features, and so forth. I feel like the Fit is going to be the bottom run replacement for this go 'round and it'll be looked at much the same way we look at the Civic now... until then I guess the real Civic is making small steps out of the econobox-basic hole, into something a little nicer. A car for the first time professional or something.
reminds me of the very first god daMM car show we had back in 01 was it? harrisonburg nissan gave us a nissan altima 3.5 the first year it came out. i cant remember who it was, probably gerald that said that the altima at that time was bigger than a maxima only a few model years older than that. everything seems to be all grows up
1994 Ford Ranger
2004 Honda S2000
2007 BMW X3
actually when that altima came out, it was bigger than the then-current maxima

The roads were fine by mid day... and most companies allow you a lot of flexibility on how you spend your time during the day as long as you get your work done.
What the fuck is your point anyways?

anyways back on topic, i dunno what it is but i just cant find anything about hondas i like. This is not a personal bash on any honda owners, just IMO, i just dont like the current style of anything in the Honda lineup. those seats are pretty pimp though. Now on the Acura end, I wish they would come out with like a TSX type R or something, now that would be hot.

heh, I think I held my own in the Fiero against G in that thing up on ISAT road.... through 1st gear. Then it was all over
dammit, I was gonna post a pic of the flyers for that car show, but they're Adobe Illustrator format :?
And yes, the topic:
The current Civic rocks IMHO. Jess test drove an SI last weekend and I was very impressed. Her smile indicated that she was as well. It was surprisingly stiff for a street car, and the 8k redline wheeeeeee

have your driven them? i'm not too fond of the styling either, but nobody makes a car that is a joy to drive, enjoy, and not worry about better than honda.
tsx with some more power would sell really well. it'd be close to intruding on the tl market, but i still think it'd do well. i know of a couple of people who wrote them off just because they lacked power.

Now on the Acura end, I wish they would come out with like a TSX type R or something, now that would be hot. I think the current Civic looks way better than the last gen and I would def drive one. The Si is a lot better than the EP3 and is a pretty good value. Of course the Mazdaspeed 3 is quite a bit more car for only a little bit more money. I can't say I'd pick the Si over the MS3 unless the 3 was REALLY unsatisfying to drive.
Either way I'm just not really gung ho about any street cars right now. If Honda had brought the DC5R over here I might've bought one but even if they bring the new JDM CTR I don't know that I'd spring for one. I'd much rather have a supermoto.
As for the TSX, we won't see any sort of special TSX for this generation but the 08 will be all new and supposedly will be turbocharged and have SH-AWD. The only thing I don't like about that though is that it'll make the car heavier.

nah ive never driven one, mostly because i look at style as a huge factor for a car i get interested in, and i have only driven hondas that werent "performance oriented" like the new/old Si or any integra Type RRRRs, and have been disappointed. I may have to test drive one though to see what all the hype is about on the new Si coupe and sedan. I love the new honda interiors though, the lighting in the guage clusters just look very stylish to me. dont get me wrong i know they are reliable as hell, just havent had the opprotunity to drive/ride in anything other than a simple honda econobox.

I'm with Evan (shocker). Yes Hondas are reliable but I wouldn't necessarily say they're in the fun category. Functional? Hell yes. Fun? Other than an S2k I'm not really feelin' it. I can't believe I'm saying this but I think I might put Mazda over Honda on that list.

The Mazda 6 is definitely more sporty than the Accord and Mazda has the Miata and RX-8 in additon to the two Mazdaspeed cars.
Right now the only sport-oriented cars in the Honda lineup are the S2000 and Si.

I agree on the mazdas being more fun and better looking, but less to worry about? I only really know about the 6, which got had pretty sour ratings around the time I was looking. By sour, I mean enough to scare me (capable with a wrench) away. RX8 - didn't they have engines replaced?
I think the 3 has done pretty well, and the miata as well, but I think it's a stretch to say Mazda reliabilty (over the entire fleet) is on par with Honda.

What Mazda lacks in reliability, Honda lacks in fun factor so we'll call it a tie.
I'd rather have more fun than reliability but I drive an Audi so that's pretty obvious.
