Ryan did you buy it just because it was cheap, or have you always wanted to boost your car? Regardless, nice buy!

So what are you doing with your exhaust? I mean, how are you going to make that huge DP fit into your current exhaust system?
the downpipe should bolt right up to the 2nd cat, which will lead into his exhaust. IIRC, the stock NA header has a split with two primary cats (3 pipes to each), which join together just before the secondary cat. This means Thayer is also going to eliminate some cats/restriction. Personally, I'd get a high-flow cat or a test pipe at this point, since the cat is now going to be the restriction on his exhaust flow, which we all know is critical to a turbo.

Fixed that

I may be eliminating a cat. I'm not worried about the downpipe being too big though, since my exhaust is 3.5" from the cat back.

Congrats Ryan.
What is the compression of the NA motor vs the turbo?
PS. look behind you...now look up....that's the top of the slippery slope, enjoy the ride!

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...
Stock n/a compression is 10.0:1 and the stock TT compression is 8.5:1.

Is the compression lowered via a head gasket, or are different pistons used in the two models?

Compression is changed via a headgasket. I'm keeping the stock headgasket for now though, that's why I'm limited to around 7psi. If you start pushing more than around 10psi you have to look into things like the turbo tranny's, injectors, fuel systems, pumps, $blah, $blah, $blah.

Deal with it. Boosting your car can bring a myriad of issues that you need to address. Its a slippery slope.
