Clutch Master Cylinder is going out again, im blaming this on a POS Advance Auto part, being as its only been like 3 months since i replaced it. Just had to fork out for a OEM part from Mitsu.

Rebuild it yourself with OEM seals?

If the bore is still smooth, rebuilding the CM just means stuffing the new guts in the old body. Takes like three, maybe four seconds. Just make sure you use a flare nut wrench.

hmmmmm....to bad i already ordered it from mitsubishi, i didnt even think of a rebuild.
upon further inspection the master cylinder from advance auto is not salvageable, ill take pics to show why, the OEM piece is a much higher quality piece, i cant believe advance is tryin to pass this off as OEM
OK, on my drive to advance auto....I arrive and look down at my temp its 3/4 the way up, normally sits at 1/2 way at all times. I immediately shut it off. I look for leaks, no fluid anywhere. I pop off the cap, plenty of fluid in the top hose as well as the thermostat housing, check my reservoir, dry as a bone. I see DJ from ET motorsports, i orginally tagged him as a douche bag from the first encounter we had he didnt make a good impression on me. I ask him to help me out cause i know he knows DSMs. He gets under the hood, we both notice the radiator is still only warm to the touch, the upper radiator hose is very pressurized and hot, and the lower radiator hose isnt pressurized and cold. I let the car idle, the temp creeps up. We come to the conclusion that its the thermostate being stuck Closed. I limp it back home, had to stop 4 times to shut the car off and let it cool down before i could continue. I get back, Adam helps me out and suggests we check for an air bubble before tearing into replacing the thermostat. I pop off the cap, thermo housing is almost dry, not good, we add water and coolant and work on getting out air bubbles, crank the car up, it sits fine, give it gas it starts to creep up in temps again. So ill bee trying to replace the thermostat tommorrow and hopefully that fixes the problem. No biggy, i dunno if its ever been replaced and it only set me back like 10 bucks for the thermostat, but the god damn rubber gasket, 8 bucks.....WTF
On a better note, my wheels are in i just gotta go pick em up, and im probably gonna be ordering a Schroth Rally 4 harness in a week or so for my autoX adventures.
Temps rise when thermostats are stuck closed. If it's stuck open, then you car doesn't heat up.

Sorry about the car Justin, hope the thermostat takes care of the problem.
oh nah man, im pretty sure it has never been changed out before, so given that its a 8yr old thermostat, id say anything could have made it stick shut, i need to look into getting a new radiator cap as well upon further inspection.

For autox purposes it doesnt matter much - hell, you really only need the lap belt, and you can put it in with snap-in endlinks so it comes out easily when you dont need it.

i dont even think harnesses are necessary for autox. just twist the seat belt before you plug it in. however, i can bet money at some point that his car will see the track at some point in the future. if he's gonna get harnesses, he might as well do it right.

well i thought about a 5 or 6 point, but im ony gonna be using it for autoX/Street and ill prob never track this car just because i couldnt live without being able to drive it whenever i wanted. So thats why im leaning toward the 4 point DOT approved Rally 4.
As far as not needing it for AutoX, i can see where your comming from, but with leather seats, i tend to slide around including my upper body, so i would rather focus on driving than keeping myself in my slippery seats.

i wouldnt necessarily use harnesses for street. its a lot more of a pain to use everyday than a seatbelt and might be more unsafe unless you have some sort of rollover protection like a rollbar.

These aren't your traditional Cam lock harnesses, so they are easier to strap into. and are built to use your factory mounting points to keep from compressing your spine in case of roll over unlike many Harnesses. Which is why they are DOT approved and will react like your normal 3 point factory belts.

Do what girls do and just ignore anything Maeng has to say. Your slippery leather deats will benefit from those harnesses. Good luck and brake/break less.
