I'd just lock the car if it was me. I'm sure there are plenty of people who willl check a door but won't cut open a soft top. James just keeps everything in his locked compartments, glove box and arm rest. If you ask me there's no right answer, but personally I'd lock it.

Thank God I don't live in the fan but right outside of it in a nicer part. Came home the other day and our garage door was open. Nothing taken out of it. Insane.
Edit: I'll just talk to insurance and see what they say about it the locking/unlocking situation
I lock the s2k. I don't leave anything in site, well sometimes I do but nothing of value and the radio is behind a little door and also stock. It stays unlocked in my driveway but I'm in the suburbs but when I'm out, I lock it. Insurance will replace a soft top, and on an older car(although my top is new (but already worn in two spots)) I wouldn't mind a replacement anyways. Like Justin said criminals are dumb but young ones are also lazy. Unlocked door is super easy walking down a row of cars checking handles. Slashing a top means they've already targeted your car. Either way if they want in they're getting in. You can pry open pretty much any door or window enough to get up the unlock button.
Also, people are assholes now a days and a bet a handful of young dumb ass kids out there will slit your top just for the hell of it and not even take the time to pull something as attached as a radio

Dude, you're diving in quick in typical Ryan fashion. I've had mine for months and still have no clue.
I thought this was a daily? Ohlins? Str? 245 tire? You savage, son.

GWR takes their NC race car on long trips on them. They swear by them and say they don't feel terrible at all It's the mild Ohlins. Not pure track ones...

The reason I'm getting a full exhaust that is the quieter version so I only hate myself a little more...

Seriously, drive this thing for at least a week or two before you go making changes.

If I hate myself too much I'll take it to a point I can bear it enough.

It's been very very hard for me to not at least order the GWR Muffler. I love the engine sound as it revs but nothing happens out back and I'm just like meh.

looking forward to this one, i think its got a lot of potential, and the NC's are underrated IMO.

I can understand that, but also remember that when the top is down, the exhaust gets 100% louder, so keep that in mind for when summer comes and you're DD'ing. My Cobalt catback is super quiet with no drone with the hardtop. With the soft top it drones like crazy on the interstate, and with the top down, it's like it's piped right into my ear.
For the rest, I'd wait. These are great cars when stock, and yours being as new as it is, it'll surprise you. I'm sure it's a great idea to do a ton of suspension work and such to it, but just wait it out.
In my experience a stock miata on 500+TW all-seasons will provide infinitely more smiles than one that has been fucked with. And they're too slow to justify a loud exhaust. At least autocross it in stock form before you start throwing money at it

This is weird. I've never seen MM try to talk someone out of modding a vehicle unless it is stupid modifications. I don't know what to feel.
Edit: The car currently sits on some cheap Yokohama Avid tires. It understeers probably worse than the Mazda3 until you hit the throttle. It's hilarious.
I would love to do the refrigerator bowl to see how the car feels with being able to actually put the hammer down but need roll bar.
To be honest I don't understand the 245 street tire on an NC miata with the 170hp engine. I feel like it's a lot of wasted weight and tire. You can could easily run a 225 on a 16inch wheel and be faster? Unless the dynamics are different from auto-x to track?

You have a truck (a nice plush one too), go ahead.
I see you modding it and realizing how many times better this platform will be vs your 3
