WTB: 996 Turbo

This might as well be a theological discussion between Jerry Falwell and Osama Bin Laden.

I guess you either love them or hate them. I'm a certifiable 911 fanboi. I love all of the classic aircooled ones even though they sorta suck to drive. I especially love the 993 because its aircooled and not incredibly difficult to drive, and I'd punch a baby in the face if it put a 997/991 in my driveway.

The abortion that is the 996 is the only 911 I don't like. The front end looks like they melted it and the side profile looks like they couldn't be bothered. The interior is shit awful in design and quality, and it sounds stupid, but I hate the way the clutch and pedals feel in those cars, the shifter feels like a stick in a bucket of sand and the pedals all feel like they're on a delay timer. :dunno: Even with the "money-clunking" 964 and earlier transmissions at least they're connected to something.

From your perspective you only like one generation of what you consider a bad car. From my perspective y'all like the only bad generation of an amazing car. :dunno: :dunno:

You guys only posted up shots of the rear end of the car. The front looks like a VW Bug on adderall and mushrooms that went full face melt staring at itself in the mirror.

really? I couldnt tell Wink
I cant say I hate them, I used to really really want them, and was even a pube's width away from buying a red 996 with the GT3 bodywork a good many years back from a rich arlington girl who was joining the peace corps and was dumping it quick for dirty cheap. coolstorybro.

to this,

for the same money, same hp.
and its like Porsche is barely even trying to stay relevant anymore.

That could be an accurate description for every single generation of 911...

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

its a pretty car that shit its pants.
the sleeker and wider they make the car, the more obvious that retarded rear engine bulge is.

I think Porsche has already admitted defeat to a degree. It'll be interesting to see what they can accomplish with their mid-engined 488/650S/Huracan competitor that they're supposedly building
