WTB: 996 Turbo - davej - 05-14-2015

My buddy John sold his e30 m3 and is now looking for a 996 turbo for 40 or less. If you find anything interesting in your travels, please post it here.

40 or less is going to be higher mileage. Great solid cars though.

Re: WTB: 996 Turbo - Senor_Taylor - 05-14-2015

I saw the title and that you posted and I got really excited. That'd be an interesting jump from a 2002.

Re: WTB: 996 Turbo - .RJ - 05-14-2015

You should be able to find those all day long

Re: WTB: 996 Turbo - davej - 05-14-2015

This is his front runner currently. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://clients.automanager.com/169613a34291464e9336cca146e1d4c4/mobile-vehicle-details/2001-porsche-911-turbo-41e80978af884a4ea4d5260a11edf294/?Framed=1">http://clients.automanager.com/169613a3 ... /?Framed=1</a><!-- m -->

I, for one, do not oppose flying out and a trip back from TX with it.

Missed the boat a 1 to 2 years ago. I should have just sucked up a car payment and bought a gt3 2 years ago. I would have made money selling it today. :?

Re: WTB: 996 Turbo - davej - 05-15-2015

You should get on the mid-70's 2002 boat now while you still have a chance. I'll give you a ticket for your z06

Re: WTB: 996 Turbo - Evan - 05-15-2015

ugh why was every single 996 Turbo made in silver. Such an awful color for that car.

i thought this was the standard German color and anything different was special order?

but hey on the bright side you can blend in with traffic great since every 3rd car is silver these days!

*goes out and looks in garage...dies a little*

Re: WTB: 996 Turbo - G.Irish - 05-16-2015

I don't know what it is but Porsche and Benz buyers have a huge hard on for silver. I wanted the Cayman in white, blue, or black but kept finding silver so had to settle on that. Not next time though.

I actually like the later 996 front ends. I think the overall body shape isn't as cohesive as the 997 and 991 but I'd hit it. Worst thing design-wise about the 996 for me is the interior. But I could overlook that for a clean GT2.

nah, I like the 996. Modern and sleek. The bumpers on the early ones were plain and boring but with that fixed they look damn good.
I would rock one. (just not in silver)

every 911 after the 996 just looks like it shit its pants.

Yeah I am so confused. the 991 is gorgeous. 997s are definitely not bad on the eyes either.

its a pretty car that shit its pants.
the sleeker and wider they make the car, the more obvious that retarded rear engine bulge is.

Its time for Porsche to finally give up on the poopypants engine layout. I mean shit even Chevrolet figured out it sucks, like 30 years ago.
