Home Projects - Major projects are pretty much done, getting more into furniture pieces and details. Planning an angle iron and distressed wood coffee table for the relocated living room. Will start build when (if) it gets above freezing.
Interests I'm looking to spin into hobbies
Mountain Biking
Kayaking
Soccer
Mostly though, introducing the kids (8 and 10) to these things and others to see what sticks. They love skiing so we are going every weekend and we're looking at getting into some "racing" (NASTAR). I loved soccer and want to get into an adult league, the kids are on travel teams so they are playing/practicing year-round.
As far as cars go, track weekends are spendy so I think some autox and just fixing some minor annoyances will be it and just enjoy driving it on weekends and commuting a few times a month. Or, sell it and move on to something else.

I have a little bit of a rub near lock but if you are turned to lock on a track there are other problems already...

That reminds me. Some guys I went wheeling with the other week had scale models of their exact truck in RC form. Pretty sick. I have a video somewhere of them driving them around on the trail.
The list I'd make for myself is below, but I don't seem to do that many of them consistently these days.
Crossfit
Tinkering with websites
Video games
Road biking when it's warmer
Photography
Guns
International travel
Eating and drinking at new places

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
I'm down for a "Show off your meat" thread.

Isn't that the whole poing of an inside joke. Totally not funny unless you get it. Maybe once I have a car, and can afford to miss work, I'll come do some auto-crossing and stuff.
I think we need more MM offroad trips
I was actually talking to a guy I met on TacomaWorld who goes to JMU and he said he had heard about MM but thought it was nothing but ricers. I had to educate him. Maybe we can get him next semester or something.
You don't really need to own a car to have fun at an MM event. Show up at an autocross and someone is bound to offer you a co-drive. Same thing with a cruise if you guys still do those. Show up at the track and you'll end up in the passenger's seat of an instructor's S2000 while he attempts to fly it right up a Corvette's poop shoot. (Lookin' at you Maeng )

Oh I know, it's just the fact that I've only driven an actual car for a total of like 15 minutes in my entire life. I wouldn't feel comfortable driving someone else's car. The downside of coming from a family with trucks.

You're tall, you'll fit in the M3's fixed seat. Drive it at the next autocross. I'll come down early and you can bomb around some back roads first. It's paid for, it's already been crashed, and you can't do damage to anything from a little parking lot racing

So, what do you like to do other than cars?
taking care of a baby has taken up like the top 14 spots
I also like good food and beer. I've got a home brewers kit and I've been meaning to start brewing but see above.
I play ice hockey (terribly) and I'm on a couple of slow pitch softball teams. I really want to get back to skiing but again, see above.

Hobbies other than cars...hmm
Baseball. I live 10 minutes from Camden Yards so I probably go to 5-10 Orioles games a season. When I'm not at the stadium I'm watching every game on tv. I love baseball season purely for the fact that on almost any night you can catch your team playing and even when they have a travel day, you can find another game to watch.
Concerts. I love seeing live music and living a few minutes from Merriweather Post Pavilion gives me that opportunity. I try to see 1-2 concerts a summer depending on who is coming to the area. Nothing beats a day of drinking on the lawn and hearing some good music.
Beach. I love the beach. I'll hit up Ocean City, MD with the girlfriend just for the day or the weekend sometimes if one of our friends is there and has extra space at their house/condo. We probably do 3-4 weekend trips during the summer/fall plus a big family beach trip to Bethany.
A little bit of home improvement stuff. My best friend bought a house as a fixer upper so I've helped him with a few things. We built a shed from the ground up. None of that premade put together stuff. He bought some plans online and we did everything from the slab to roof. It was fun and educating. Also helped him put in a bathroom.

We all forgot "Animals." A significant portion of us are pet owners, but you don't usually think of that as a hobby, maybe it's more of a lifestyle. :dunno:
Regardless, it's been a huge part of my life since I was a kid and has always been a big part of how I spend my free time, especially back at home with a mob of dogs, cats and horses tearing around the place 24/7.
