Supposedly the cars go on sale in March so pricing info can't be that far off. I'm thinking they'll reveal pricing at Detroit. My guess is that it's gonna be between 22-25 for the base model and maybe up to 26ish for the premium model with HID's, upgraded stereo, etc.

Motor trend article stated the BRZ will start somewhere around the same starting price as a Base WRX which to me seems stupid but whatever...

love the oil filter location, subaru sure knows how to make an oil change easy. don't like thinking about what changing those spark plugs will be like.

equal length headers, so it will sound like any other 7500rpm 4 banger noise.

what are the other engines on the stands? possible turbo models to come later?

i'm interested to see if they do a "clubsport" model ala miata/s2000/solstice. throw out the lux items, racing seats, minimal interior....2300 lbs. shouldn't be hard. looks like plenty of room for big brakes and tires.

what's that rather large hose coming off the 90deg bend in the intake? Is that just PCV valve? Seems large for some reason. :dunno:
serviceability looks pretty darn good on that engine. I guess other non-turbo subies are that way? Well, except plugs, doing a compression test, or replacing the valve cover gasket(s) I guess....

i was wondering the exact same thing. EGR probably wouldn't make sense so i guess PCV?

routine maintenance stuff is mega easy...all the accessories are in your face since it's longitudinal and filters are cake. plugs/gaskets on the N/A's are easier than you'd think but the impreza chassis has alot more width than this, or so it looks.

now if they can just keep the damn HG's from crapping the bed....

it looks that way already to me. especially the toyota version.
no video screens, luxo items, fancy trip computers, not even steering wheel audio controls.

sadly, i think this will be a turnoff to people and will affect the sales of the car
people still like comfort and conveniences with their sports cars.
even the ~17k subcompacts have bluetooth, voice control, and big LCD screens now

Don't think you'll see lap times until magazines start getting their hands on them. This is not the class of car where Nurburgring dick swinging applies so it wouldn't really help sales to release lap times. I'll bet R&T and the like will toss it into an affordable sports car comparo sometime in the spring though.

as is tradition, the Japanese once again manage to put us all to sleep by combining fairly nice footage with totally ill fitting muzak. see Gran Turismo 5 trailer for example

at least give the car a proper introduction that makes people...excited?
