What year? I was thinking an 09-11.

2009 is the facelift. There's also the benefit of the (much) updated iDrive in 2009+ models. Hard-drive-based navigation and system software (versus DVD on the old ones) so everything loads and transitions much faster. Higher-resolution and brighter screen, too. Maps can be brought up to date to 2015 mapping for $50.

He is not wrong. The LSx m3 is pretty sweet, but it still looks like a normal econobox. Wagons with a drop and some wheels are always the right answer.

I really like the E90 wagon. Considered one until I decided I would need to find a RWD, 6-speed, M-sport one, which are unicorns and everyone wants $30k for them.

Racecars are a different type of "badass" given they aren't street cars.

The LS and Dinan cars weren't really ever "daily driven" much and the Z06 doesn't do anything for me beyond "yay loud V8 noises."

So yeah, a newish BMW wagon with nice wheels, a small drop, and a complete, modern, sport-seated interior where every single thing works? Tooootally does it for me.

I'd take the F30 wagon that Cabell posted. Dark gray on red interior or Estoril Blue on almost-white interior. Or an E9x wagon equipped as RJ said... RWD, three pedal, M-sport. The interior would be dyed to be whatever color I wanted, so long as the paint was an acceptable color.

They have a "Terra Cotta" leather color in the E90s that looks absolutely pornographic with Alpine White or Space Grey. Make it happen.
