It sure seems like a few here spend a lot of money so they can yell at their lights. I don't see the need. Each time it comes up I read what everyone is doing trying to understand but I just don't.
Bulbs/plug in outlets are the cheapest way to automate @ $15-20 per. Great for lamps, Christmas lights etc.
Switches are more at like $40 per, but good for controlling groups. Example, all of my kitchen led cans are on a Zwave dimmer. Some outdoor lights are on switches, and automated to turn on at sunset, or when a door opens, doorbell rings, etc.
I consider it a hobby, just like guns, watches, cars, cocaine.
