If you read that interview that Steve posted they discussed the need for a front and rear trunk since it's not an exotic and geared toward the everyday person. I'm sure we'll see plenty of these at golf courses in the weekend. The golf bag test is real when it comes to high dollar cars.

As someone who golfs; it’s really a huge downer to even look at 911s. Corvettes are vastly more practical.

Golf is boring, change my mind.

(Yes it's a difficult sport, yes it's still lame)

All I am saying is it makes a difference to real buyers. My dad bought an XK over a 911 due to that very specific reason.

Little frunks are a huge detractor for people IMO. Showing it can handle a golf bag means it can handle real luggage/groceries etc.

Especially if you are 50+ years old and only ever get the car to 70mph down I-95 or I-75 in Florida

it's not for everyone, but i find it relaxing. being outside on a nice, crisp morning walking from tee box to green and nailing a great shot is fantastic. it's a finesse sport; the better you are at golf the better experience you'll have. if i had more time and more money i'd love to play more (or anything since i don't play much anymore).

watching it is pretty boring, but i find that with most other sports that i play/used to play.

Flagged as inaccurate. Remember this being one of the reasons Lee loved his Jag so much?

There is no sport that's boring to play. Lots of sports are boring to watch. You can't judge if you haven't played it.

Shit, there are plenty of sports that are boring to play. Standing around for 3 days for a cricket match or aggressively polishing ice for curling are two examples sports that are boring to me.

Flagged as inaccurate. One may be active, but that doesn't mean it's interesting.

I've played golf a handful of times and have no real desire to play again. That doesn't mean the sport sucks, but it does mean it's boring to me.

OTOH, I've done curling and I loved it.

+1

Minus playing the curling part. Have done shuffle board. That was fun.

If I was buying a weekend car or a daily driver, being able to fit a golf bag in it is mandatory. Think about the demographic of people who are buying cars like these, that's definitely a normal desire

True story. Growing up my neighbor had a group he golfed regularly with and one of the guys would always drive his 360 convertible. He was able to fit his golf bag in the front seat and was always pissed he couldn't do the same with his 911.

Golf club fitting started with the C5, they used a full set of clubs as a key factor in determining the width of the cargo area. I usually take the driver out of the bag to put my clubs in the C4 cargo area.

And yes, owners of other mid-engine cars will surely scoff at the practicality of the corvette as they arrive to the clubhouse, pool, guys weekend getaway, etc. in the wife's CUV.

is that the same reason you won't by a 911?
